A Nice Night to Horse Watch (Day 2, LE)

[Shinjo Akil]

"Indeed," he nodded, turning now to remove the reins from Setem. "The other clans are... different. On the other hand, I am rather heartened by the understanding and patience shown by those in attendance here."

[Asako Yuki]

Yuki nodded. "I expect many clans were careful to put their best foot forward here." She paused. "I think there are many who would not be so welcoming to Unicorn traditions, in the Empire." She frowned slightly and sighed. "But thankfully none of them are here, neh?"

[Shinjo Akil]

"At least, none that I have met so far," he nodded, smiling. "Have you found this place to be agreeable, Asako-sama?"

[Asako Yuki]

"Oh hai. Although it has taken some getting used to." Yuki explained, smiling. "Today's event was fun, and I've met so many new people and their horses." She was starting to get on a roll now. "And there was this time when we first got here, when I realized our tents, err, yurts, were filled with furs and I was shocked. But then Asako Hirase-san and Yuzuki-san convinced me to go try them on. So I came back out with all the furs on and it was really, really, hot. But I kept doing it because everyone was staring and I wanted to make sure I would fit in with the Unicorn and not disgrace myself and my clan by dishonoring what you had set up for us. Sis said I couldn't do anything bad or they wouldn't take me back at home and I don't want that to happen, though I guess that if I get married here and join the Unicorn than I wouldn't go home anyway, neh?"

Yuki finally took a pause for a breath.

[Shinjo Akil]

"You wore furs?" He canted his head, "I am surprised. It was not something I thought any of the other clans even would consider." He smiled beside, "which others from my clan have you met? Are any of them of interest to you?"

[Asako Yuki]

Yuki blushed a little. "Hai, it felt... well, like a challenge I had to overcome." She paused, "Though I did go get cleansed shortly after. Just in case. I wasn't sure if your priests cleansed the leather or not." The young Phoenix thought for a moment. "Quite a few. I met Moto Butaj, Shinjo Liu Fei, and Shinjo Liu Yue the first day of the Miai. As well as the Shinjo sister's horses, who were quite lovely. Today..." She thought longer. "Ah, I met Shinjo Hanashi-san, and now I've met you. Five is not bad for two days, neh?" She grinned slightly. She tilted her head to the side some then.

"What do you mean of interest? Like, friends? Or for the miai? If it's for the miai, then..." She wrung her hands a bit. "I'd... prefer not to say." Her blush grew to fill her cheeks and start on her nose.

[Shinjo Akil]

He chuckled a bit. "I did mean that you might think are worth courting, yes." Leaning on Setem, he crossed his arms. "I thought I might be able to help you if there was one who had already caught your eye."

[Asako Yuki]

Yuki paused. "Well, I haven't really made any sort of decision just yet. There are many Unicorn men here that I haven't met yet."

[Shinjo Akil]

"Logical enough," he nodded, "I'm sure there a few who will have their minds made up by tomorrow."

[Asako Yuki]

Yuki's eyebrows raised at that. "Already? The people of your clan do not seem to take their time with such a decision."

[Shinjo Akil]

He shrugged, "Life is fleeting, Asako-sama. I personally will take some time, if the decision turns out to be mine to make in any case."

[Asako Yuki]

"Just -san is fine, Shinjo-san. I am of no notable station." Yuki remarked quietly. "As for me. I hope I will come to a decision before the end of the Miai. Though with the current standings, it almost seems more likely that I will be taking one of you home, rather than the other way around." She frowned slightly at that.

[Shinjo Akil]

"I suspect that I will be ending the year under the name of a different clan than I started with," he nodded. "Unless I do very well in the next several events. It is not necessarily a bad thing, however."

[Asako Yuki]

"I had come here expecting the same." Yuki admitted. "Though I suppose there are still many events left for us to prove ourselves, which could change everything."

[Shinjo Akil]

"Indeed. We will see what they put in front of us these next few days."
