I think thats factually correct from a Lion with a 3k2 history roll and special interest in Lady Matsu

Um.....if you rolled a 2, maybe I'm pretty sure the actual details of that duel is roughly a TN 10, it's kind of famous and all

But your character is free to believe whatever he wishes. He already thinks a real lion is his sister and a Matsu.

There are 2 canon versions of the story printed by AEG

The lion version says Matsu fought all day and Kakita showed up at the last minute and "stole" the victory which was allowed by the rules, and was considered a great tactical move.

The crane version says matsu and kakita fought the same number of battles, matsu acted brutally and kakita with honor, and then kakita refused to bow in honor to matsu at the end in order to insult her because he considered her not worthy of being treated as an honorable samurai because of her actions

Both versions say that that tournament is why the ancestors hate each other and why the families warred for 10 centuries

Haven't seen the Lion version. Was that in Secrets of the Lion?
