I really wish this miai had more nice places for young bachelors and bachelorettes to meet and chat; No markets to shop in for gifts, no tea houses or sake houses, no hotsprings to mingle in, no gardens to wander through, only the one little temple... restaurants, smokehouses, libraries, courtyards...

I'm having trouble thinking of excuses to walk amongst the yurts and fields continually :p

That's because there's a dojo, a riding grounds, an archery course, a stables, and a dueling ground. All you martial types have *plenty* to do.

For us courtier types, this miai is going to really really focus on discussion. There IS stuff to do, but you've got to look for it. Borrow pillowbooks and have a discussion over the topics within. Find out who has a bunch of sake and have a sake tasting (as opposed to a booze fest as we're not long on supplies), discuss who has which perfumes, and what is currently in fashion. Talk about those wacky Unicorn. Spread rumors. Play Sadane. There's lots to do, you just have to work harder at it. Just keep taking walks if you want to run into random people, or invite them to the front of your yurt to talk about something.

I gave a Moto a question to ask people about poetry, and have spread a couple rumors. Looking forward to seeing what happens

Courtiers have reason to train; athletics is something everyone can do.

I think though that its largely meant to have the talkers (courtiers) need to talk to the Unicorn in their environment. It's all very likely intentional, and if your character is ill at ease without all the normal creature comforts they expect/want, then play that up! Cause you/they are without those things!
