[Yasuki Tomonaga]

Tomonaga grinned. "You're in luck, then!" From the folds of his kimono, he procured a sake bottle and a cup, bringing forth a second if Yuuru didn't have his own. "This bottle is a little on the rough side; I think it fits the Unicorn tastes better than our dryer varieties."

As he poured, Tomonaga grunted acknowledgement. "Different is right. I've met a few Unicorn. Every Clan has those that diverge from the standard, but I haven't quite figured out what the standard is, yet." He frowned thoughtfully as he covered the bottle. "But... they're learning. We're learning." His lips twisted. "Hopefully we can all get it figured out by the time the miai ends, eh?"

[Soshi Yuuru]

He smiled and accepted the cup rather than reaching into his bag for his own. "I'd hope so. Just invited one of them to have a seat and talk, and apparently I offended her sense of freedom."

[Yasuki Tomonaga]

"Oh. Was that...?" Tomonaga looked back over his shoulder at the now distant cloud of dust that signified the passage of the Unicorn woman. "Huh. I'll have to keep that in mind."

He raised his cup. "To better luck next time, eh?" He said, his tone cheerful, before drinking in unison with the Scorpion.

After, he frowned thoughtfully. "I guess freedom would be a thing for them. I mean, with their horses, you can get away from your fellows anytime you want. On the other hand, you can't get separated from the whole, or you'll be totally alone in a strange land." He shrugged, a little uncertain as to what conclusion to draw.

[Soshi Yuuru]

Yuuru shrugged, "I'm sure she's probably just a stuffy princess of some type. The other women I've talked to are easier to speak with on whole. I'm a man who cares for his freedom to some degree as well... I hope they're not all that touchy, otherwise I'll be going home empty handed I fear."

[Yasuki Tomonaga]

"I've... generally found them to be not too touchy. One of the menfolk, Shinjo Akil, took my questions in remarkably good grace, even when I asked about what's probably a sensitive subject." He looked thoughtful a moment. "Maybe they're like the Matsu, then... but I've met a number of other women, too, and many of them were perfectly friendly. I'm sure you'll do fine." He raised his cup again, smiling, this time watching to see Yuuru's reaction to the drink.

[Soshi Yuuru]

He nodded confidently and took a sip of the drink. He drunk it down and smacked his lips lightly, "That is indeed pretty strong. Good flavor to it as well. How long has your family made it?"

[Yasuki Tomonaga]

Tomonaga smiled, pleased at Yuuru's enjoyment. "If I was a Lion, I'd be able to tell you, for sure. As a Crab..." He shrugged. "More than a few generations, is as specific as I can get. But we're still trying new things. Different sorts of casks, different ages, different materials..." He shrugged.

"That's... part of the reason I'm here, of course. You know, besides the obvious. See what the Unicorn like. See if they've got anything we'd like." His eyes glinted, his smile turning just a bit wicked. "I can't wait to force some kumis on my siblings..."

[Soshi Yuuru]

He chuckled, "It certainly was an interesting drink..."

Then asked, "What types of things are you looking for then?"

[Yasuki Tomonaga]

"I'd say you'd be surprised at what you can make into drink," Tomonaga said, his tone dry, "but after last night, I'm guessing you might not be."

He shrugged. "But pretty much that sort of thing. New materials, like milk. New methods; how do they do it? We keep our barrels dry, and at a steady temperate, both which might have been a challenge."

He shrugged again. "Of course, that's all secondary to making connection with the Unicorn. I'm guessing that's why you're here?"

[Soshi Yuuru]

He nods, "That's why I've been sent at least. The wishes of my superiors and my own mingle at times."

[Yasuki Tomonaga]

Tomonaga's eyebrows went up, and he gave Yuuru a grin. "Oh really? Well, since it's a personal goal as well, I'll wish you good luck. May you find what, or rather who, you're looking for." He poured a bit more sake into Yuuru's cup.

Tomonaga sighed. "I... speaking for myself, I don't really know. Unicorn women seem nice. Pretty, but also tough." He smiled crookedly. "That's the right combination for a Crab. My first crush broke a chair over my back."

[Soshi Yuuru]

He chuckled, "Sounds like a strong woman. What'd you do to deserve that?"

[Yasuki Tomonaga]

"She certainly was. I was laid up for a week." Tomonaga grinned at the memory. "As for what I did, well, let's just say that my flirting technique has improved since then. And you shouldn't go pulling on a Hida woman's braids no matter how pretty you think her hair is." He said.

"At least things are going better here." He added. "I can say without reservation that no one's hit me with anything. Maybe I need to improve my standards, eh?"

[Soshi Yuuru]

"We've only just begun Yasuki-san. Still plenty more time to upset the women." He said with a laugh.

[Yasuki Tomonaga]

"I suppose that's the nice thing about flirting with women from other Clans." Tomonaga said, his tone amused. "No one has as much wood furniture as the Crab do. I think the best the Unicorn could do would be to hit me with one of their saddles. They're big saddles, but it's not furniture made for Hida to sit on."

"If I might be so bold as to ask, Soshi-san," He began, "has anyone caught your eye? I understand if you want to be discreet, of course. But, well, this is a miai. Arrangements for marriage are probably going to begin by the time the month is out."
