[Soshi Yuuru]

He nodded, "I see you have a strong will. Your will is your own, and I will not even try restrain you from doing as you please. I meant no offense, I assure you. Quite the opposite in fact. You're an intriguing woman to me. I would have enjoyed talking with you and learning more about you."

He stood and walked to the side of her horse, "But if you are looking to converse with a man who is cowed into grovelling or lacks a strong will of his own, I'm afraid I'm not that man. I won't force you to stay any more than you'll be able to forcefully get me to track down some horse to chase after you. For me, at least, if you leave now, it won't be a total waste, because I guess I will have learned exactly what type of companionship you're looking for... and I know I can't fill the role of dedicated sycophant and worshiper that you'll apparently need."

He looked into her eyes carefully, "Now if you'd like to have a conversation 'partner', I'd be more than willing to talk. Hell, I'll even apologize again for any misgivings I may have given. These exchanges between our clans are a new adventure for all of us... and I know adventures don't always pan out on the first try. I've got plenty of scars to prove it."

[Otaku Kitakuhime]

For someone that wants to apologize, he sounds very passive-aggressive.

She gives him the time to explain his thoughts and shakes her head, "You won't force me on any matter, neither will I. The lesson has been learned. I merely offer you an opportunity to reach me out again if you will."

[Soshi Yuuru]

He nodded and smirked, "Very well. If we let this opportunity pass now though, I doubt that will happen given the circumstances. But, I wish you the very best Otaku-hime. I hope there's a spineless man out there for your taking."

[Otaku Kitakuhime]

She spins Gekko around and nods to him farewell, "May the Fortunes smile on your adventure to find the obedient little wife you seek."

She blows another kiss in the air, and Gekko strides down the ridge.

[Soshi Yuuru]

He chuckled, "Obedient little wife? Nah... just someone who will talk to me like a person."

He shook his head and took up his seat again and began drawing more of the landscape.


(OOC: That ended much quicker than I expected. I'll go ahead and open this up for anyone to join if they'd like.)

[Yasuki Tomonaga]

Striding with moderate athleticism up the ridge, Tomonaga stepped well aside as the Unicorn came down the other direction. He just had time to throw a bow in the direction of rider.

Shrugging, Tomonaga continued up the ridge, slowing when he spotted the Scorpion. Breathing just a little heavily, he approached, bowing again, very casually. "Hey, Soshi-san. Warm day, eh?" He said.

[Soshi Yuuru]

Yuuru searched for a mon for a few seconds before nodding, "It is indeed Yasuki-san. What brings you out this far?"

[Yasuki Tomonaga]

Tomonaga straightened as his breathing stabilized. "Eh. Missed my morning workout; had some things to do. You know how it is. Thought I'd make up for it, and see some more of the land at the same time." He paused for a moment, taking a deep breath of the air. "It's nice, isn't it?"

Looking over the Soshi's shoulder, Tomonaga gives his drawing a curious look. "Is that what brought you out here today?"

[Soshi Yuuru]

He nodded, "Yup. Here for the landscape. I have a bit of an interest in cartography... So I was drawing up a map for some practice."

[Yasuki Tomonaga]

"Oh, ok. That makes sense." The thought of the Scorpion making maps for more sinister purposes didn't occur to Tomonaga; he nodded understanding.

"Hmmm..." Tomonaga frowned, first looking at the map, then out at the plains. "How do you map something like this? Seems like just a lot of fields to me. Or have you found something more interesting?"

[Soshi Yuuru]

He smiled, "It is truly just a field, so the basic outline is fairly simple. But the ways that the streams divide the land up, the height and width of the hills, the location of the trees... all these things give some added insight to the trained eye."

[Yasuki Tomonaga]

Tomonaga returned the smile. "Heh, well, glad to hear that I'm not far off. Still... interesting." He looked back and forth from sketch to landscape a few more times. "You a scout, then? Too bad none of my Hiruma cousins are along; you could talk shop with them." He chuckled. "On the other hand, if you wanted to talk sake, well, I've got you covered there."

[Soshi Yuuru]

He smiled, "I'm certainly not averse to talking sake."

He then paused and thought, "Scout... hmmm.. Kind of I suppose. I work under a magistrate as a junior yoriki to help map out and provide law to the Shinomen."

[Yasuki Tomonaga]

"Ah! Good man." Tomonaga said approvingly. "Golden Carp is my family's sake, if you've heard of it. Some of those Unicorn drinks from last night were... interesting."

"I see." Tomonaga acknowledged Yuuru's words. "Well, I'd ask what brings you here, but I imagine it's the same as the rest of us. Ummm... how are you finding the Unicorn so far?" He'd wanted to ask 'any luck', but Tomonaga did have a bit of propriety, after all.

[Soshi Yuuru]

"I've heard of Golden Carp. Haven't had the joy of partaking any..." He smiled, letting the suggestion hang in the air for a moment.

Then added, "Well... it's a bit of a mixed bag I suppose. It's been... different..."

He chuckled.
