So, the Fox are hands down one of my favorites clans, but I believe this initiative is based largely (if not entirely) on my pushing for it and pestering other characters about it in game (thanks for playing along!).

If we had goals, this would have been Takeo's. This is also largely the reason that I brought a Fox character. The Fox are descendants of Shinjo and were always left behind with the idea that they were still Shinjo's children. It's just Shinjo took longer than expected and so people moved on.

I am also one for mixing things up to buck canon so we can see how different things would play out. I don't know how MS would handle it, but my hope would be something akin to the Tonbo remaining a family but joining the Dragon.

It would also help the Unicorn get numbers back up (the Fox are almost half as large as the Unicorn, who are 4 times smaller than the Lion) and I feel like it might help balance the power in what has been a Lion-ascendant Empire for awhile (I play Lion too!). Also, to a certain extent, it can be motivated by in-game rationales like, "Well, we don't want to be destroyed like the Tonbo, and we don't want to be puppets like the Suzume for Kato, so we should return to a Great Clan who can help us."

There's also a lot of questions like, hey, if they do rejoin, what happens when the Scorpion come knocking on the Kitsune Mori like they could with any other great clan? Well, that kinda depends on what the Crane will do, doesn't?

All-in-all, there are a lot of unknowns and twists and turns, but I think it'd be a great change to the setting to see how things shift and ebb and flow with a lot of opportunities for character development.

I understand why some people might not support it, but those are my reasons and I'd be thrilled to see where such a story goes!
