Scorpion Get Together (D2 LM) [Mizuki's Room, Private]

[Yogo Mizuki]

Mizuki takes the medicine when it is offered. "Thank you, Soshi-san."

She gives a nod of acknowledgement to Yuichi's compliment. She assumes he means it in a good way, but the self-loathing and -hatred of her looks makes it bitter. Her face is the face betrayal. After a moment of making sure she doesn't lose composure, she says, "That's good" to her fellow Yogo.

She turns back to Taira, "I doubt it. The Shinjo I met, Shinjo Akil, acted like a proper samurai. And an Ide Amaya was by all accounts friendly. I really can't imagine her acting threatening to suitors." Fleeing is a different story.

A slight frown at the restoration of Kakita's shrine, but Mizuki quickly recovers and turns to Hotaru."That is a good idea. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help." And she meant it. It was a good idea regardless of Mizuki's feelings to the Kakita.

[Bayushi Suteichi]

"I am to be meeting with Ide Amaya-sama this afternoon Yogo-sempai." Suteichi spoke at last to Mizuki.

[Yogo Yuichi]

"Oooh...I never quite considered the magic that the Unicorn's use to be like Meishodo or akin to fetishes. It may look like it works the same way, but I think somewhere the similarities end sooner. Apparently, they don't have a connection to the kami or communicate to them in the same way. They don't need to be born with such a gift, only learn it. I can tell that it works, but I can scarcely explain how." She mentioned as an aside to Yuichi.

Now, here's a person that talks about interesting topics. Yuichi thought as he listened to the other Bayushi.

'' They could not cast magic without the kami's will.'' He replies '' Unless their power came from 'other' sources. But it seems that their source of power is not blasphemous, at least from what I have been told. Surely they must perform some type of rituals that we don't know. Some sort of different prayers that we don't understand. I guess I will have to take a closer look. ''

'' Thanks for your information, Bayushi Hotaru-san'' He bows to her.

[Yogo Mizuki]

"I am to be meeting with Ide Amaya-sama this afternoon Yogo-sempai." Suteichi spoke at last to Mizuki.

Mizuki doubts Amaya is what Suteichi is looking for, but holds her comment and lets him decide. "I look forward to hearing what you think of her."

[Bayushi Hotaru]

Hotaru smiled faintly and bowed in return, giving the obligatory distant politeness in how non-Yogo Scorpions handled the Yogo.

She did add further findings to her observations. "If you're interested in knowing more...apparently their source of power is through taught words, which was given to their founder when they were abroad in the Empire. City of Magic, or something like it! It is through these words that they are able to imbue power and abilities in the trinkets they carry with them."

Suteichi still gave no such attention to Yuichi. He heard him and that was sufficient.

Thats what I was getting at. Learning about what they know so that we have understanding. Perhaps maybe you'll remember that the next time you decide to be disrespectfully ignorant.

He continued listening and sipping his tea.

[Yogo Yuichi]

'' City of magic, you say? hmmm that sounds interesting. Using magical words to create nemuranai?..'' Yuichi wonder '' Well, it definitely sounds interesting and worthy to be investigated.''

Yuichi turn to look towards Suteichi's direction. He smirked behind his mask. '' Bayushi-san I think I owe you an apology, it would seem that these gaijin know more than just eating raw meat and drink fresh blood. Please forgive my previous attitude .'' He offered a slight bow, was Yuichi being sincere? probably no...

[Bayushi Suteichi]

Suteichi was blantantly patronizing as Yuichi was.

"Noted. Yogo-san" he replied with the same manner of bow.

[Yogo Yuichi]

Yuichi barely noticed that the Scorpion courtier was quite disgusted. He was very good at hiding his real intentions

He smirked. '' Great '' And raises his tea cup towards him. In any case, he already had too much fun with this Bayushi. It was enough for today.

She looked to the other Scorpions. "Other than Soshi-sama's upcoming games night tomorrow evening. Are there any other events we know of where we can present a short Scorpion showing? It would be pretty lousy if blue gets more noticed than red. Some might be more inclined to put us in the back of their thoughts if that were the case."

[Soshi Bantu]

"Not that I've heard of yet Hotaru-san, but it is still early. Many attendees will still be finding their feet and acclimating to the unique and unusual nature of this gathering."

Bantu continued to chew at the tip of his pipe, not lighting it yet, but taking solace in its presence.

[Bayushi Suteichi]

She looked to the other Scorpions. "Other than Soshi-sama's upcoming games night tomorrow evening. Are there any other events we know of where we can present a short Scorpion showing? It would be pretty lousy if blue gets more noticed than red. Some might be more inclined to put us in the back of their thoughts if that were the case."

"I will be drafting a letter of invite to the Governor to host a music and dance party. This will be a chance to share in our cultures. I am sure the Unicorn have picked up some interesting things from around the world and what better way to become acclimated with it than in a fun and...intimate sort of affair."

[Soshi Bantu]

That announcement grabbed Bantu's attention immediately and his eyes seemed to sparkle just a little bit brighter.

"Wonderful news. I love to dance Suteichi-san. I hope that the Unicorn have brought all sorts of new dances back with them from their travels."

This is likely the most animated any of the Scorpion have seen Bantu.

[Bayushi Suteichi]

That announcement grabbed Bantu's attention immediately and his eyes seemed to sparkle just a little bit brighter.

"Wonderful news. I love to dance Suteichi-san. I hope that the Unicorn have brought all sorts of new dances back with them from their travels."

This is likely the most animated any of the Scorpion have seen Bantu.

That got an honest smile out of Suteichi.

"Well if I knew that about you Soshi-san, I would have brought my samisen and played a number for you."

[Yogo Mizuki]

Mizuki is very interested in the discussion of magic without talking to the kami. Is that heretical? Very, very interesting. But I must be careful and not let my desire for magic get me into any trouble.

Mizuki here's something that Suteichi was talking about. Distracted as she was in her thoughts, she was only half paying attention. "Hai. That sounds like a good idea, Bayushi-san." The parts she heard did sound good.

"Maybe we could do an evening of plays to introduce the Unicorn to the culture of the Empire. And we will be fair. It won't be all plays from Scorpion playwrights. We'll have some Lion ones as well. Of course, the other guests will be invited to show whatever they want."
