More days to come (Day 8 Late Evening Hotaru's)

[Bayushi Hotaru]

"Mind you! The time you spend finding peers, you could be using to find a wife. Just something to consider." She smirked.

She nodded slowly a few times. "Those are a start. I think your former question might be better suited. The oracle is less versed with the specifics when it comes to names and persons. That is, unless you have a few people in mind and you know their personality or history really well, then the readings could be more apparent. Think of it this way, what would you ask a stranger with all of the answers?"

[Ichiro Daisuke]

"You are right, the second wasn't a question I honestly meant to ask the Oracle. If you are needing a name though, the young woman I am most interested in is Otaku Imane." He had been trying to avoid saying that name, but if it could help...

[Bayushi Hotaru]

Hotaru chuckled at the name reveal. She didn't need it, but any information she picked up in her divinations usually helped, now or later. "Oh, Otaku Imane-sama? Very well, so you're just curious if you'll be a good match with her and what a future with her could bring? That's something the oracle can answer."

[Ichiro Daisuke]

He hesitated a moment before nodding, he was still uncertain if he should of given a name, especially with things still so uncertain. Still Liu Yue and Kitakuhim ewere both out of the question, and Saksaha seemed well on her way to finding happiness with another. "Yes, I am."

[Bayushi Hotaru]

"Very well, then. Let's see what the oracle gives us on your inquiry. Mind you, this reading might be vague...just because you're asking about your future about her, it won't assume on the basis that you'll be together. Perhaps, this is more relating to when you'll cross paths again in the future. If the reading or provided hexagram points toward a strong connection, perhaps you can be more optimistic then." She smirked.

With that, she laid down the yarrow sticks, separated into two piles and one single perpendicular stick adjoining them. "All things are connected in life, Ichiro-san, regardless how small the impact might matter in your life. Consider what decisions you've made when you've spent time with others, leaving an impression on you that might steer you toward another course. Nature and the Heavens, too, as they are responsible for the existence of our souls in the great cycle. Sometimes we are indeed meant for great things but such opportunities are never meant to be. With all of these elements combine, there is your ultimate fate..." She said cryptically before she got to work on sorting out her sticks find the answer to his question.

"Thunder over Fire..." She said inquisitively as she looked at the sticks on the ground. "Which seems to indicate that you will be celebrating success over your relationship. However, success only lasts so long as you allow it. For this reason, the oracle suggests that you prepare accordingly so that you remain at the peak of success. All of this combined, it seems that you and Otaku Imane are destined for great success, together at that..."

She looked up and smirked. "This is the boldest reading I've had so far."

That was more then he was expecting, much more, and he couldn't help but feel relieved. Fighting off the smile that was threatening to overwhelm his features he gave a polite nod. "We've already talked about, being prepared, a marriage to a Otaku isn't like most others. That you mention it here. Well, I can only think of it as a good omen."

He dipped into a bow. "Thank you Bayushi-sama."

[Bayushi Hotaru]

Hotaru returned the bow in kind and laughed. "No problem at all! It was a pleasure reading into your future, Ichiro-san...and it seems that you're destined for some rather great things between you and Otaku-san. I'm rather impressed already! Even if it hasn't happened yet..."

She glanced down at the sticks again, wondering if she made a mistake somewhere, but it seemed the Badger was actually destined for success with his intended spouse. It seemed that was the reading meant for him and she did feel a little envious. "That's good that you're already planning things out...it's one of the few times where being presumptuous must save you a headache, then cause it. I wish I could have more to give...but knowing that you will be celebrating success is great news in itself."

"Well, things are not set in stone yet." He offered thoughtfully, there were still several days left in the miai after all, and who knew what could happen. "Still, I am happy to hear, even if we don't end up married it seems we may end up working together." And while he didn't believe in affairs, seeing her would be nice.

"At this point it's mostly accepting what the changes being wed to the Otaku would bring to my life, and I admit that wasn't too easy. They are different then the Badger in many ways." He would not hesitate though, not at this point, he knew this is what he wanted.

With her high standings, she never had to ask herself what she would do in the Unicorn. It was perhaps for the best she avoided leaving her Clan for the Unicon, given their love of milk. She'd rather not risk dying to their diet.

She began picking up her sticks again. "Well, you probably have to learn how to ride your own horse, take care of one and procure one. That's a start. What have you learned of the Otaku that makes them different from say...the Shinjo or the Moto Family?"

"Well, first off we will have to wait until her first horse is of retirement age to start a family. That will be around five years from now, that was the hardest thing to accept, I want a large family and had hoped to start sooner, but it seems that's not to be. It gives me time though, to do things that I may want."

"I'll also be the one to raise the children, which I really don't mind so much, one of us has to after all and in the Badger it can be the man or the woman." He paused a moment. "I believe the Otaku are in some ways like the Matsu, if that makes sense?"

[Bayushi Hotaru]

"Oh...I suppose like matriarchy?" She murmured in realization, which was a tidbit that she didn't know of the Otaku. Of course, she never had the chance to talk to any of the Otaku here, so that was a fact that wasn't really going to be brought up. "That's strange, why dod you have to wait for her first horse to retire before starting a family? Is the horse going into retirement supposed to symbolize great blessing to the family or its spirit providing protection to the household?"

[Ichiro Daisuke]

"A matriarchy is likely a good word for it." He agreed with a nod, of course there may be a few things he was missing, but this is how it worked, as far as he knew. "It's customary as far as I can tell, the Shiotome train and fight almost exclusively atop their steeds, they are a pair so when the horse retires, it's when they start their family. It takes a few years to train a new mount apparently, so it's a good time?"

[Bayushi Hotaru]

"Hm." She murmured to herself on that thought but it seemed to make sense. A part of her wondered if this was only specific to the Otaku or if the Unicorn did it as a whole. It seemed like their whole focus were on horses. "I could see that would give her a good reason to sit out of the battlefield long enough to start a family. They've gotten by for a few centuries, so it must coincident pretty well as a tradition."

Hotaru clapped her hands together. "Anyway, I think I'm digressing! Is there anything else I might do for you today? It was truly a delight to be able to read into your potential future. Quite easily the best news I've heard from the oracle!"

"I agree... I just hope it doesn't end up feeling like I'm raising children forever." He flashed a wry smile. "I'd like at least six after all, at least as far as children go."

"well, that was all I was hoping to ask, if things had played out differently, I might of been seeking the word of the Oracle on several different matches. As it is though, the only other Unicorn woman I might like to marry will never be my bride, well unless i somehow manage to win both of the next contests."

"Even then though, it would be a long shot."

[Bayushi Hotaru]

"Well, as said before, the answer to your question was a strong one. It seems that your match with Otaku-sama seems very likely, or you'll get a great relationship between each other. That sounds like optimistic news to me!" She chuckled. "I have a good feeling that it will turn out well."
