The only thunderstorms I couldn't happily sleep through were the ones in Beijing... big flat plains with HOLY COW thunder and lighting in the summers. (Also my apartment at the time was basically a cardboard box, structurally and sound-insulation-wise. :mrgreen: )

Most Asian houses aren't very adequate for thunderstorms. I remember last year we had a thunderstorm that woke me up at 4am. I spent the next 3 hours, till I had to go to work, cleaning my flooded apartment and removing furniture, pulling them up, away from the windows, all windows. Cat did not leave the upper side of the closet all day.

If I ever lived in asia I might have o try and storm proof any place i lived in a bit.

But i live in Texas, land of tornadoes, fist sized hail, and straight line winds. Storm proofing is like second nature.
