[Ide Amaya]

She slips inside and kneels by the firepot. Stirring the embers back into wakefulness, she puts the water on to heat.

[Seppun Hideo]

Hideo smiled at her, watching her preparing the fire and boiling the water.

[Ide Amaya]

She sat, thoughtful and confused, as the water heated, looking at her hands, tension pricking at her neck and between her shoulderblades.

[Seppun Hideo]

His smile fizzled away, and he looked concerned. Slowly, he moved behind her, bringing his hands to her shoulders and gently began to massage them. "What's wrong my love?"

[Ide Amaya]

She roused from her reverie at his touch. "It's nothing," she shakes her head softly. "I feel as though I am walking through quicksand, and a single step might pull me down. Things were simpler yesterday."

[Seppun Hideo]

"I know" Hideo said as he moved his fingers to her neck, working the stressed points "it is not an ideal situation, but this is the way of the loose-lipped. I wish it were different, and that we could find somewhere more private...but truly, even if we are not giving into passion, there is still nowhere I would rather be than here with you. I love you, and everything about you fills me with joy, not just your touch. Your voice makes my heart soar, your smile makes it skip a beat, and I could lose myself in your eyes. I am happy just being with you."

[Ide Amaya]

His hands are keeping the fires stoked, but she is in better control now. "I could play the kogo for you, to pass the time?"

[Seppun Hideo]

Hideo smiled at that. "What a wonderful idea my love. I would certainly enjoy hearing you play again." He places a gentle kiss on the back of her head "I can finish the tea while you perform if you wish?"

[Ide Amaya]

She nods, "I should like that," and she gently rises, taking the harp from the corner of the yurt and seating herself. She touches the strings lightly, adjusting one slightly.

[Seppun Hideo]

Hideo allowed his hands to fall away as he watched her move, taking a few moments to admire her before he moved to finish making the tea. His eyes always drifted back to her.

[Ide Amaya]

She idly moves her hands over the strings, not playing anything in particular. Little musical phrases intertwining together.

And still Hideo listened with a smile on his face, enjoying the simple music as he placed her cup near her. "I love you Amaya" he quietly said, trying not to distract her.

[Ide Amaya]

She smiles, sweet and genuine. One hand leaves the strings, and the melody changes as she picks up the tea cup to take a sip.

[Seppun Hideo]

He took a sip, watching her over the lid of the cup, and made a decision. He places the cup down, and draws his imperial green fan, the mon of the Seppun visible in the middle. "While I could listen to you all night my beautiful Amaya, may I ask for a moment of your time?"

[Ide Amaya]

Curious, her fingers pause over the strings. "What is it, Hideo-san?"
