The thing is - it's no secret that it's becoming hard to cast magic. All priests felt each opening of the scrolls. While we don't know what black scrolls are exactly unless we have lore: Black Scrolls, I can't see the priests of the empire after what...six scrolls? Six openings, six loads of being very much ill and queasy, they'd just shrug and nothing would be said.

That's why I was asking. What would be told to them?

I guess it does need to be a GM question actually thinking about it...

We have had 3 open so far.

And yes, all the Shugenja have felt it, but even then, they don't know why. The common theme from the Almanac entries seems to just be "Elemental Imbalance"

That could mean a ton of things when it comes to Rokugani theology. Celestials are mad at us for example.

Edit: The Scorpion went to great lengths to alter history to keep knowledge more than "Black Scrolls were made by Isawa to defeat Fu Leng" out of the public. Without the advantage, I don't see anything being known at all.

And if you have the advantage, I don't see you spreading the knowledge publically without assassins coming in the night to pay respects to you amd all you told, even if you are a Daimyo

Three scrolls. +2 TN per scroll. I think that at 6 scrolls there are more issues than just priests throwing up.

I mean, the point is still valid. Shugenja ought to know that something bad is going on. Just that they might not know what exactly is going on.

Hare leadership knows due to PC action, IIRC. But yeah, select leadership positions and those with that forbidden knowledge are the ones that know for sure. Also I forgot the Scorpion in my list.

Some people probably think these black scrolls are tied to recent events, but unless you've witnessed it or studied it there's nothing conclusive.

decisions decisions on the one hand dueling samisens on the other hand I would be more inclined to attend a funeral as much as Kaizen enjoys music he is still a properly spiritual Phoenix and he would attend for his host... not to mention an opportunity to observe potentially different funeral rights?
