I'm still here but away on a work trip: visiting endangered species habitats near Austin (which included caving today for extra adrenaline as I'm not a big fan of enclosed spaces)!

So I'm around but will continue to be slow to respond, which sucks because I have lots of great threads on the go and want to set up more. I love my work though, so forgive me as I run around figuring out how to enhance ecosystem regeneration and hang out with cool people talking about science

I've got vireos, woodpeckers, Texan spiny lizards, slimy salamanders, a jillion bats, blind cave millipedes, and those are just the ones I can ID

Will put some up on Friday when I get back and can download them. The spiny lizard and slimy salamanders are my favourite right now.

I remember the lizards...

It's so nice! Having a great trip

My collaborators said this was the best time to come. Might skip the middle of summer and try to come back in the Fall

I'd skip the middle of summer as well if I could.

As for fall it usually starts to hit the last few weeks of October so keep that in mind if planning another trip.

Hope you don't uncover an eldritch mountain monstrosity!

I hear you Imane-san! I am totally off on enclosed places, and been spending the last month with workshops non stop. Today's was on intertidal Macrofauna.
