I mean, in theory, you do get to define Shinjo Joe (or Jane) somewhat, and s/he has less chance of getting up to shenanigans that might redound on you due to Disadvantages or whatever.

Sure, but his time and energies for running NPCs are finite, whereas the inventiveness of fellow PCs is near-infinite. And there's no indication that choosing a generic spouse grants any mechanical disadvantages (or advantages for that matter), so I imagine they'll be pretty neutral in plot terms.

Anyway, this thread is about lists! So back to that, I actually find it pretty interesting that the Unicorn:Other ratio is so similar across genders. Also interesting that the gender balance is tilted just slightly ♀-ward this time, when IIRC from Fuyumi's charts last year the historical HT gender ratio leans in the other direction.
