While Discord is fun and all:

- it can grow too big.
- easily prone to drama, so PLEASE, in Discord try to keep things very light.

Just to touch upon this briefly, I've already had one email from a new player who was "concerned" about the game "failing before it even begins" due to "other GMs leaving the game before it begins."

That's not the case, but recent chat on Discord evidently resulted in the player becoming worried and concerned.


I don't mind if people talk about the game, but please try to not drag the game down into drama before it even begins. I'd like to keep running these games in the future, but if the off-forum chat ends up being a vortex of confusion and anger (like it was back with Ryoko Owari), then I'm happy to find something else to do with my time.

I'm not upset at the moment, just trying to toss out a bit of a preemptive warning, since this is how it always seems to start. I can't (and won't) police player interactions beyond this forum, so ultimately, the mood of this community rests on your shoulders. ^__^

I've already got threads planned with 5 players in the new player thread, and I plan on having a popup thread as well day 1 that any new person can join in. Any new players only need look at the veteran player thread to know there should be little to worry about!

Definitely trying to keep things light and friendly in Discord (and here). I think there was just a misunderstanding; which unfortunately can happen with text-only mediums. So it doesn't hurt to be careful to try and avoid that sort of thing.

Hopefully we can maintain happy-fun-sunshine time.
