D1 LE - After Dinner Walk

[Otaku Chi-Pu]

Chi-Pu is looking at the sky and seems to be composed. The white light of the moon hides the green color in her face, but for the moment she seems to be composed.

"Those are all interesting lessons. However, you are Shimizu, why did the Ikoma teach you?"

[Shimizu Ryori]

"I am one of the first Shimizu, my family was formed only weeks before I was born, Akodo Shimizu did a great service to the emperor, he discovered an assassin amongst those closest to him, and was granted permission to form a new family. My father was born Matsu, my mother Ikoma, both joined the Shimizu when it was formed.

My mother teaches lessons based on her own school, and how her parents taught her, there are not many Shimizu traditions yet. The lion as a whole follow the teachings of both Akodo and Ikoma, but my mother is a little biased."

[Otaku Chi-Pu]

"I see. An assassin you say? When was this and what happened? How did Akodo Shimizu discover this threat?"

Chi-Pu looks back down form the sky and to the Lion, her face in a questioning look, one brow raised

[Shimizu Ryori]

"Before I was born, about 15 years ago, at a miai, an imperial miai, the assassin was one of the emperors possible brides, and Shimizu-domo was a magistrate. I do not know the details of how he discovered the plot, but the proof was unqeustionable and supported strongly by the Yogo, Asako, and Kuni."

[Otaku Chi-Pu]

Chi-Pu nods.

"That is a great honor indeed. The names you mentioned, are they also families of the Lion?"

[Shimizu Ryori]

"Akodo One Eye was Shinjo's brother, the greatest general Rokugan has ever known. Lady Matsu was his wife, she rode with Otaku on the Day of Thunder. Ikoma was Akodo's best friend, a bard and historian, and teacher. Kitsu, well the Kitsu were a spiritual race of shapechanging cats who Akodo allied with early on. Kyra and her siblings, and our Sodan Senzo, our Spirit Speakers are both descendants of them. They say I have such a connection to the warcats because I have trace amounts of Kitsu blood. The Akodo, Matsu, Ikoma, Kitsu, and Shimizu are the families of the Lion"

[Otaku Chi-Pu]

Chi-Pu raises a hand when the Lion begins to speak to stop, but then lowers it, letting him finish.

"Ah, I am sorry Shimizu-san, I meant the Yogo, Asako, and Kuni."

She thinks for a moment again, placing a finger on the corner of her mouth,

"Well, I know the Asako are part of the Phoenix. But the Yogo and Kuni."

[Shimizu Ryori]

Chi-Pu raises a hand when the Lion begins to speak to stop, but then lowers it, letting him finish.

"Ah, I am sorry Shimizu-san, I meant the Yogo, Asako, and Kuni."

She thinks for a moment again, placing a finger on the corner of her mouth,

"Well, I know the Asako are part of the Phoenix. But the Yogo and Kuni."

"Yogo are Scorpion and Kuni are Crab, each of those three families are well known for thier descernment in certain matters, and thier skills in training both magistrates and shungenja"

[Otaku Chi-Pu]

"I see."

Chi-Pu taps her lip.

"You are quite knowledgeable about the Empire, Shimizu-san. Was part of your training before you learned to be a Beastmaster one of a Historian?"

[Shimizu Ryori]

He smiles "my mother wanted me to attend her school, and if not for my affinity with animals, I likely would have trained asca bard, yes"

[Otaku Chi-Pu]

"I am glad we got to meet you then, Shimizu-san, there is much my sisters and I must learn. Did you enjoy meeting the other families outside of the Otaku today?"

[Shimizu Ryori]

"I had dinner with a rather ...lovely ... Moto samurai ko" his voice seems to almost crack at that. " and spoke to one of your storytellers before breakfast, other then that it has been rather uneventful"

[Otaku Chi-Pu]

"Oh, which of the Moto? I might know them. As far as the storytelling meeting went, did you enjoy what you learned? Was there any other questions you might have? I do not know much, as history was never my purpose, but I have a few tales"

[Shimizu Ryori]

"I don't think we exchanged names but she called herself the thunder to your lightning at opening ceremony, and carries a red tinted sword"

[Otaku Chi-Pu]

Chi-Pu smiles brightly again

"Ah, Khulun-san. She is a Moto through and through. In time you will come to appreciate and understand her. It took the Unicorn some time ourselves, so the stories go. I met another Beastmaster at supper. She said she trained with you. Matsu... Kogo-san?"
