The Theology of Half-People (Day 2, EA, Open/Expecting)

[Iuchi Yukarin]

"So... like that silly 'On' concept I've heard about. Hmph."

She turned to face Suki more directly, "Not that you heard such words from me of course, neh?"

[Suki]

"As you say," Iuchi-sama. "And if this one may, you did not hear me agreeing with you."

[Iuchi Yukarin]

Yukarin giggles and grins widely, "Hai, I can say that with utter honesty."

She stood up and was about to say something, but realized it felt awkward talking down to the woman, monk or no.

[Suki]

"If you have something to say, Iuchi-sama," Suki gestured for her to continue, the laughter leaving her a bit more at ease. "This one has found her center. Whatever you there is to share, she would gladly hear it."

[Iuchi Yukarin]

Nodding a little, she continued, "I was just wondering when or how I should look forward to requesting your help, monk-san. Surely this is not the time nor place."

[Suki]

"Of course, Iuchi-sama. This one is residing in the Northern Yurts. If you or any of your clansmen would seek this one's advice, she can be found there, and we can arrange to speak somewhere private."

[Iuchi Yukarin]

"Should I be advertising for you as well?"

She allows herself a bit of a grin.

[Suki]

"Not to be presumptuous, but this one had hoped you would," she admitted with a friendly smile.

[Iuchi Yukarin]

"I shall do so free of charge, in Benten-Okami's name then. I'm sure many would be pleased to know such a person is available for consultation... The one poor shrine here is of little help in that regard, and the few monks here are less knowledgeable about such things."

[Suki]

"This one has taken it upon herself to tend to the shrine some. Perhaps in the future, centering one's self there will provide more aid. Still, a shrine to the Emerald Champions of the past is hardly the ideal place to pray for romantic love."

[Iuchi Yukarin]

"Perhaps... it is not a bad place to pray for success in one's duties though. So I suppose it just depends on one's point of view on the miai here."

[Suki]

"There are no bad places to pray," she agreed. "Showing devotion to ancestors, the Heavens, and simply to the universe is bound to be of help."

[Iuchi Yukarin]

"Perhaps we are biased though, being of a more spiritual nature. Still... everyone seems to at least recognize Benten-Okami's say in these matters, so hopefully your work will bear much fruit."

[Suki]

"This one will pray that it is so. Though of course, prayer must be coupled with action. The universe will not just hand you things. This one suspects she will be rather busy in the days to come."

[Iuchi Yukarin]

"Hai, of course..."

Yukarin seemed to be looking at Suki thoughtfully a moment before speaking up again, "Please pardon if this question is out of line, but do monks of Benten-Okami ever get married themselves? Or are Fortunist orders ascetic in that regard?"
