I have often wanted to play the kids of previous PbP-characters.

So far, I stick to playing their spiritual descendants.

Like Tomoe. Who actually appeared for the first time at White Oaks, as the young daughter of Kitsune Ariake.



And after spending with Asako Sayuri (who would later become Ariake's second wife), Tomoe became more enamored with the tale of Tamamo-no-Mae and wanted to become liker her.

With some changes, Heresy-Tomoe became adult Hollow Throne-Tomoe.

I've mentioned it before but I did something similar in reverse from HT to Heresy with Akodo Ryo and Asako Ren's son. Was a good little exercise.

If a child with Yuki happens, Butaj will seek ways to ensure his or her future as samurai with a decent schooling.

Even with a pile of disadvantages I would always play my character's child.

EDIT. I see Yuki and I would have to compete for the right to do so.

Well, unlike in Heresy where her mother passed away from complications of childbirth, mother and her eldest sister Tamaki instead got eaten by the oni that the Bloodspeakers summoned into the Kitsune Mori... the gruesome loss of his wife and eldest child made Ariake very withdrawn, bitter and heartbroken, and he couldn't stand to be in the Mori anymore - so he left the Kitsune to join Reichin's crew.

So no Kolat-brainwashing in Hollow Throne for Tomoe. Unlike Heresy-Tomoe who is learning to be a good little Kolat.

Heh, so I'm not the only one who's thought about the kids of Yuki/Butaj and Amaya/Hideo being neat character concepts in themselves. "Child of scandalous True Love" is such a classic, classic ronin backstory!

As opposed to the hypothetical kids of, say, Saksaha/Udo, whose backstory would just be a little bit WTF.

It has occurred to me before that if for some reason I want to play a Sparrow again later (I'm trying not to repeat clans that much, but if), it'll probably have to be one of Kiyonori's kids, the youngest of whom happens to be typical-PC-aged. But that's really cheating, he came with full-grown ones out of the box.
