(Day 9, EM) Riders of the Steppe (Expecting)

[Shinjo Hanashi]

"Oh? Theater, merchants and sahir. Thank you Butaj-sama; should I speak with them it will give me some knowledge, eh?"

[Moto Butaj]

'It should. Mizuki is rather open who she is and what she wants, and Hitako is curious and thoughtful. Maybe one of them is just the one!" Butaj smirks.

[Shinjo Hanashi]

A shrug, "Long as I can keep telling tales and learning new ones, eh?"

"And what of the great Butaj? Found anyone special?"

[Moto Butaj]

Butaj beams. "Asako Yuki, if Fortunes allow us to add marial bond to the romantic one."

[Shinjo Hanashi]

"She seems a good sort. One of the few I've talked to."

[Moto Butaj]

Good sort sounds a bit demeaning in Butaj's ears. "She is wonderful, the best Butaj could imagine." He quickly claims.

[Shinjo Hanashi]

"Luck then that you keep the match. I proposed the idea to her a couple days ago about the Unicorn and Phoenix riding, their magics versus our horses. Perhaps if you like the idea you both could help organize such a thing?"

[Moto Butaj]

"Butaj can see how it could be fun. One of the things to consider for the future. They have plains in Phoenix lands, Butaj has heard."

[Shinjo Hanashi]

A brief nod, "Some kind of forest and a coastline as well. Might be nice to ride along the ocean."

[Moto Butaj]

He nods. "Her family lives more inland, Butaj thinks, near a place called Hopeful Rest. But they have some small horses in their household, and Butaj thinks he may start herding bigger ones for his children."

[Shinjo Hanashi]

"Good luck. Their...horses, will take some getting used to, I expect."

[Moto Butaj]

"Well, Huludai is going with Butaj, so Butaj won't have to get used to the small horses that much." He chuckles. "Butaj thinks this is a good way for those of us who marry out, to find ways to impress who we are and how we do things on those Easterners we end up with."

[Shinjo Hanashi]

"Just learn how they do tea parties. There are a bunch of old stories about how important a tea ceremony is."

[Moto Butaj]

"Butaj will learn how to do them, then pour milk into the cups anyway!" He chuckles. "Their ways will have to make room for our ways. We have not spent centuries in the Sands to unlearn now all that we have learned."

[Shinjo Hanashi]

A grin at that, "Hai, that is true. But in their homes? We then would be guests and expected to honor our hosts like any one who would be your guest at your yurt or campfire, right?"
