[Day 10 Late Morning] Bunnies need fresh air

[Usagi Tomoe]

It was certainly about time to do something permanently about that portal... but there had been no luck so far.

"I... this is really out of my field of expertise. A shugenja might know what to do..."

[Matsu Nintoku]

"True," he frowned. "But I am certain that in case of a portal the Kitsu are already all over it."

"I just think we should investigate on this vision of yours."

[Usagi Tomoe]

"... It might be prudent to learn what others saw in their visions. If my grandfather would appear before me like that, other ancestors might have done the same thing too," Tomoe suggested.

"I'm not quite sure either how I could 'investigate' something like that brief visitation."

[Matsu Nintoku]

"Me neither," he frowned. "But that is a start."

"I will write to my sister and explain the situation. I will also learn more about this as well to try who are the people that returned."

[Usagi Tomoe]

"Hm... it could perhaps be something the priests of your clan could investigate? The Kitsu are experts when it comes to the other Realms beyond our own, and might be able to learn more?"

There was something else on her mind too that she did not mention. If those coming through are from Toshigoku, because of the portal... then grandfather, how did you know?

[Matsu Nintoku]

"I am certain they will be investigating this," he replied. "My sister was one of the Matsu that joined the Shikyo and is the yojimbo of one of their priests."

"Still," he frowned. "The vision happened here. I do not want us to be ambushed."

"I do not know about you Usagi-san but I am half aware about which of my ancestors ended up in Toshigoku," his expression darkened. "We must act."

[Usagi Tomoe]

"I... am not quite sure how my grandfather knew. He did not die in battle and was not a cruel man, so Toshigoku does not sound like a place he would go to, but," she breathed deeply, "I know he had a rather special bond with spirits. I was told once that he was able to look into realms beyond ours, but... I kind of assumed it was a little exaggerated at times since it's not really a talent that the Kitsune have."

But if you were not really a human, grandfather, I guess it would make more sense now.

"We...? I'm sorry, but I'm not exactly well-suited for an expedition to Kyuden Asako."

[Matsu Nintoku]

"Better not to think much of it," he reassured her before shaking his head. "Not Kyuden Asako. Morikage Toshi."

"Also we should see who else had a vision and try to shed light on this mystery."

[Usagi Tomoe]

"Sorry. Yes, Morikage Toshi." She shook her head. Why had she thought of Kyuden Asako? No matter. Maybe her brain was still a little frizzy after last night.

"... Iuchi Saksaha is one of the Unicorn mystcics who are the most familiar with these kind of things, I think? She might've had a vision too."

[Matsu Nintoku]

Noticing her confusion he reassured her "Kyuden Asako was where the portal was opened but the spirits appeared at Morikage Toshi or rather, near it."

He pondered "That would be a good start as well as learning who had any visions. Wasn't there a Centipede that claimed to be a future-seer?"

[Usagi Tomoe]

"Yes," she nodded. "Moshi Asakiko. I've heard that she has a fortune-telling stand in the village here... but you should be able to find her around camp, I imagine."

[Matsu Nintoku]

"I'd prefer not to handle her," he said frowning; it was obvious he didn't feel very comfortable around priests. "Could you handle that? I will write to my sister as well to some acquaintances among the Shimizu."

[Usagi Tomoe]

Tomoe raised an eyebrow at that, wondering maybe there had been some fall-out between him and the Moshi at some point.

"Err... sure. I guess. I'll write her a note if I can't find her."

[Matsu Nintoku]

He sighed in relief. "Then that's that," he let a small smile slide out. "By the way Usagi-san, congratulations on your performance in the past days. You've certainly been moving up in the eyes of the Ide."

[Usagi Tomoe]

"Thank you," she nodded, chuckling a little. "If only I had started off as well as some others, I might have had a better chance to start with. Guess I was getting tired of always being just pushed out of getting their attention in these competitions."

"And if all things goes well, I might have to start calling you Moto Nintoku now, neh?"
