[Ide Amaya]

She gasps, "oh, no. Of course it had to be your good robes. They do have a knack for it." The kettle hot, she leans forward and ours the steaming water into the pot.

[Seppun Hideo]

"It's not damaged thankfully. Just needed a little checking over" Hideo reassured her with a smile "you will get to enjoy me wearing the priestly robes again soon, no need to be concerned."

[Ide Amaya]

I'd prefer you out of them, she almost said, and the boldness of the thought surprised her, bringing light colour to her cheeks. She busies herself making sure that the cups are positioned just so on the little folding table, and quite forgets to say anything.

Hideo noticed the slight blush, and watched her work with a curious look. He wondered where her mind had gone - she couldn't have been imagining something lewd surely - but he didn't ask. Allowing her to finish up the presentation.

She realises that silence has fallen, oh, I think I was supposed to say something. "I know we discussed the duel between Miya-sama and Otaku-himesama, but not the duel before."

Hideo stroked her side idly as she spoke. "Magic does certainly create a quite impressive sight for magic dueling, neh? What did you think of the art of Taryu-jiai?"

She frowns, concerned, impressive? "Not exactly the word I would have used." She pours the tea and hands Hideo a cup.

"How would you describe it?" Hideo asked, curious as he accepted a cup of tea with a smile.

She thinks, dangerous? deadly? foolish? She settles for, "it seems strange to me, to risk so much."

[Seppun Hideo]

"Risk is a good summary of Taryu-jiai. The elements are hard to control, and dangerous. Even if you win the duel, there is no guarantee you will survive to enjoy your victory" Hideo took a small sip of the tea "they are rarely used to settle disputes for a reason."

[Ide Amaya]

She is thinking, solemnly, and it is only in the safety of his embrace that she says, carefully, "I prefer this. To invoke the judgement of the Fortunes by invoking them. And let the Fortunes claim the price they name."

She presses her lips together, remembering Dong-Ha's excitement, the way his pup had cried when the Unicorn had carelessly dropped him. With faint disapproval, "of course one of the Clan would have asked."

"I can imagine the Iuchi being very interested. The few I've met have wanted to learn all about the magic of the empire, just as I have wanted to learn of the magic from beyond the empire" Hideo nodded "thankfully,
The demonstration went by without issue. It could have been much worse."

[Ide Amaya]

She's not sure she agrees that it was 'without issue', but doesn't press the point, sipping her tea quietly. She settles a little deeper into the cradle of her heels, and the arm around her. "What do you think of the Iuchi spirit walk?" speaking of dangerous demonstrations.
