(Day 7, LE) Hold Me... In a Headlock

[Matsu Kogo]

She smiles and begins to work her way out. At one point, her arm is cocked in a painful position. None of it shows on her face. She slides from beneath, using pressure to cause his body to move to compensate. Finally, she has worked her way loose and is obviously in a better position to grapple him. "Do you see what I did?"

He pays attention but doesn't put too much pressure on the hold. This was about figure things out, not actually trying to injure someone. "Alright," he says with a nod. "Yeah, that makes a bit of sense."

[Matsu Kogo]

Kogo looks confused, wondering why he isn't holding it harder. Does he think I cannot handle the pain? She moves out of the hold. "Perhaps...this is not the best way. Matsu-sama did admonish Usagi-san and I for getting ourselves unnecessarily hurt" She puzzles for a moment. "How did Matsu Nintoku have us do this..."

[Shinjo Monkhbaatar]

"When we trained in the dojo we gradually worked up to full effort. Our sensei always warned us that if we pushed too hard before we knew what we were doing we were likely to cause unnecessary injury. And that time spent recovering was time not spent learning," he says with a shrug. "We only went full intensity when we knew enough not to hurt ourselves and others."

[Matsu Kogo]

Kogo pauses, considering. "Your sensei is wiser than I, by a far stretch." Kogo takes a moment and breathes. "I think, that in my attempts to impress you Monkh-san, I have failed to consider that I may not be learned enough to teach such a thing. I apologize for my brashness. I would not wish you to become injured because of my ignorance."

[Shinjo Monkhbaatar]

"You know more than I do," he says with a smile. "Whatever you can share is useful Kogo-san."

[Matsu Kogo]

Kogo looks at him and nods. "Then perhaps we could start with stances." She shows a stance she had learned a few days before. "Copy this and then we shall see if it needs adjustment. Matsu-san said the stances were a crucial beginner's step. I had forgotten but I suspect as you taught me posture first, it would be important to teach stances first, instead of jumping in as I had done."

"It's all right. We were both a bit excited. That's normal," he says smiling widely at her. He moves to get in the stance. "Does this look right?"

[Matsu Kogo]

Kogo moves out of her own stance and walks around him. "Hmm. There is a need for some adjustment. Your arms should be more like so..." She touches his arms gently, indicating where they should move and stopping him when he reaches the place. "And your back is too far down." She touches the small of his back, feeling a small jolt through her as she realizes again he is not wearing his shirt. "Uhh, like this." And finishes the adjustment.

[Shinjo Monkhbaatar]

"Alright," he says making the adjustments, and smiling softly at her touch. "Does one just stand in the position to memorize it, or do you follow a form to a second position?"

[Matsu Kogo]

She blushes a tinch. "One definitely moves. But the starting stance is important." Once he is in position, she moves back into hers. "From this stance, we can move into this one. " She indicates the next position, much closer to him. "Its important to hold your hands like so" She indicates. "And to not become too stiff in the process." She looks at him. "There are a series of holds and throws that are taught early on." She demonstrates on the air, showing the procedure for a sweep move. "You move like so, and sweep with the leg, throwing the partner and disabling them." She looks up at him. "Does that make sense?" Isn't there some sort of phrase for getting swept off one's feet? I doubt this is what's meant.

[Shinjo Monkhbaatar]

"I see. This is a good amount to learn. I'm sure there are a great number of positions for us to try together," he says with a mischievous smirk, as he follows along.

[Matsu Kogo]

Kogo blushes slightly. "I suspect so. Hopefully we will be able to do a great bit of learning together.." She moves slightly closer. "I hope you are amenable to in depth study." She says with a smile to her eye.

[Shinjo Monkhbaatar]

"It's the only way to truly learn. Otherwise you go through life known only basics about everything and never truly getting to understand something fully."

[Matsu Kogo]

She smiles. "Your dedication to learning is impressive Monkh-san." She moves herself into position a little closer. "Now, would you like to try to sweep me?"
