[Otaku Kitakuhime]

"Three days... or one." She reminds them. "I'll miss your songs, Butaj-san."

[Moto Butaj]

"You don't have to miss them just yet. We'll have some time until the lamb is done." He casts away the flap to his yurt, leaving it open.

[Otaku Kitakuhime]

She waits for him -outside- the Butajcave until he gathers everything he needs. She nows herself too much not to lose herself inside.

[Moto Butaj]

Whatever Butaj's thoughts on the matter (probably mostly innocuous) he does not behave like he would have any 'step into my yurt' expectations, though maybe he's just hiding them well. He emerges quickly with topshur across his back, a skin of kumis and a pouch of spices, then sits by the nearest campfire to skewer the lamb. He looks up at her and wonders if she would be joining him there.

[Otaku Kitakuhime]

She joins him promptly. Looking to the animal pens and back to his yurt. "I didn't know you were so close to the animals."

The snickers, poking the fire with a stick.

[Moto Butaj]

"You know that Butaj's family doesn't like him too much. But Butaj seeks positives and here you go, the shortest route to midnight snacks. Or to goat-summoning princesses." He snickers back.

[Otaku Kitakuhime]

"Oh...," She looks back, "Kare-dono... we forgot him there."

The girl shrugs, realizing Kare wouldn't really go anywhere. "I know they don't like you. Forgive me, but the Moto are weird. Look at Khulun-san. Look at all the mess I went through today because of those damned songs."

[Moto Butaj]

"Butaj would like to point out he's very weird too. He gets a lot of weird looks from the easterners." He smiles, though with less mirth, seeing where her mood is going. "Songs were a tricky thing, Butaj admits." He paused. "But if you were not constrained with your choice of song and could just follow your heart, who you'd have sung for, Sayyeda?"

[Otaku Kitakuhime]

"I would have a thousand lips to sing, if I wanted to follow my heart." She shows how big it is with her hands.

Then she freezes. "That. Didn't sound ok, did it?"

[Moto Butaj]

He smiles, not taking advantage of her slip. "Butaj thinks you wanted to say you greatly care for our Clan." Butaj puts the lamb over the fire and starts rubbing the spices in it. "Butaj considered singing for you but then he remembered our conversation yesterday night and thought it might be badly received since Butaj cannot marry Princess Kitaku."

[Otaku Kitakuhime]

"Neither can she marry Butaj-san. Rules are rules." The girl nods, full of wisdom. Then, she looks at the stars, "Thank you. For not singing, but thinking of doing it."

[Moto Butaj]

"Well, Lady Shinjo sometimes broke the rules when she followed her heart but it was on very rare and special occasions. This way we are wed is not one of them though, Butaj assumes. Though the old Moto way of abducting the one you love and making her yours under the stars still appeals to Butaj..." He sighs, looking above too as he stuffs spice into the lamb. "But Butaj is sentimental, and Ide Dabo wants us to change to be less sentimental about how things have been in the west, and Butaj cannot ignore it."

[Otaku Kitakuhime]

"Another proof of why we can't marry then. Shinjo-kami was wise." She giggles, covering her mouth. "Have you ever tried to abduct an Otaku to see what happens?"

Her glare intensifies.

[Moto Butaj]

"Butaj hasn't. And has an impression that he won't. Trying that, Butaj assumes, is a privilege." He's done with seasoning, roasting time.

[Otaku Kitakuhime]

"Well, If it is something like an agreed game." She smiles again, playfully. "Remember, Butaj-san. The Ujik-hai ways of the past have changed with Shinko-kami. So our ways will change here a the Empire. The question is: what we will change on them, like the Moto changed the Ki-rin."
