[Matsu Kogo]

She blushes harder. "Ano...I am honored Shinjo-san." She pauses. "I thought...that perhaps it would be best to be bold. It would be hard to leave the miai with regrets of what one has not done, yes? And as the standings are now, I will likely be marrying someone I do not know if I am either not chosen or change my standings." She pauses again. "It seemed best to try, despite my concerns."

[Shinjo Kemuri]

He nodded. "Regret nothing. I want the best for you, Matsu-sama."

[Matsu Kogo]

Kogo looks up at him, slightly startled by his honesty. "You do me too much honor Shinjo-san. But I am glad for your good wishes. I also hope for the best for you through this miai. You deserve an honorable match."

"That will be for the Heavens to decide." he shrugged. "How have the last few days been? It's been some time since we spoke."

[Matsu Kogo]

She nods. "Wise words Shinjo-san. I will seek to remember them." She pauses. "They have been...eventful. What about yours?"

[Shinjo Kemuri]

"Much the same." he chuckled. "I think this miai will be remembered. It has certainly been eventful."

[Matsu Kogo]

She smiles. "I suspect it will be. The Unicorn's return had already ensured it, but now it will be remembered on its own terms." She looks at him. "Did you sing yesterday Shinjo-san? I fear I missed many individuals singing, so I am not sure if you were one of them. I arrived late."

[Shinjo Kemuri]

"Hai, I was one of the earlier singers." he nodded "I was concerned that you would not appreciate such attention, so I sang to Miya Mei-sama."

[Matsu Kogo]

Kogo nods. "I would not have minded such a thing, but I thank you for considering my feelings in the matter. Was she pleased to accept your song?" There are worse things than someone openly courting you.

[Shinjo Kemuri]

"She was." he smiled. "She sang to me."

[Matsu Kogo]

Kogo smiled. "Then I am pleased you did so Shinjo-san. To have your feelings returned is a joyous thing." Most times anyhow. "Was it a pleasant song she sang?"

[Shinjo Kemuri]

"I found it pleasing. It was very interesting." he nodded. "All of the songs were."

[Matsu Kogo]

She smiles. "Then I am very glad for you Shinjo-san." She looks at the puppies playing. "It would be a different life for you, being an Imperial."

[Shinjo Kemuri]

"It would be, but there is some synergy." he replied. "I would still be able do a lot of riding."

[Matsu Kogo]

She nods. "With a Miya, that is likely. You would be all over the Empire."
