[D8, LE, Expecting] The Trouble With Onyx

[Kaiu Hiroji]

Hiroji is sitting in his yurt. Thinking, and waiting for Kogo. So many bad omens... What could it all mean?

[Matsu Kogo]

Kogo came to the Hiroji's yurt, unsure of whether this day could get worse. A Matsu beastmaster who can't even train a dog properly. Might as well just go shame yourself and go home Kogo. She scratches at the flap and waits.

[Kaiu Hiroji]

Hiroji opened it for Kogo and bowed to her to come inside. "Good evening Kogo-San. How are you?"

[Matsu Kogo]

She shrugs and comes inside. "I have been better. How are you Hiroji-san? Did your day fare well?"

[Kaiu Hiroji]

He shakes his head somewhat defeatedly. "I am afraid the dog they assigned to me was not the best stock. That or I am a horrible trainer." He gives a dark chuckle. "That, and the matter of yesterday has weighed heavily on my mind." He turns serious.

[Matsu Kogo]

Kogo's chuckle is dark as well. "Yes, I fear that my abilities must extend to cats and not dogs. It is a pity. Today seemed like the last chance I would have to change my standings. I fear I will be the first Matsu marrying out of my family in generations." A lump comes into her throat but she swallows it. "Yesterday was...complex."

[Kaiu Hiroji]

"I am... Sorry about my outbursts yesterday. But it's... It's a sensitive subject for me." He sighs.

[Matsu Kogo]

She shakes her head, sitting down. "No, it is understandable Hiroji-san. If I had been in your shoes, I might have done the same thing. I just could not allow it as host, though Moshi-san's information was disturbing to say the least."

[Kaiu Hiroji]

He sits down too, and nods. "Yes, what do you make of it?"

[Matsu Kogo]

She shakes her head, not in denial but as if trying to clear it. " I do not know. It is a grave thing to say. To know one such as this is so close and that the Unicorn have met with it...It is a grave charge.I find myself wishing there were someone we could discuss this with who would not spread it about the camp. I feel a rather intense need for guidance."

[Kaiu Hiroji]

Hiroji nods. "There are a number of options. We could contact others in our clans... But that could lead to some very bad things." He frowns.

[Matsu Kogo]

She nods. "It could cause a panic. And with little information, that could be unwise." She pauses. "But waiting too long has its own risks. We also do not know who were the others at this meeting." Her face hardens. "It seems that war never ends, but merely recedes for a brief moment."

[Kaiu Hiroji]

Hiroji's face darkens. "You are wise Kogo-san. This is just another battle among many." He frowns. "But we must ask what scale we want this battle to be. A skirmish or an invasion."

[Matsu Kogo]

She nods. "It is a good question. We need more information. As Akodo says, no army has claimed as many lives as ignorance. We must be cautious." She thinks. "I have a friend who I could ask to keep his ear to the ground. He is discreet and knowledgeable. Perhaps he can hear something." She thinks. "Can you think of any you have met who would be discreet and willing to share information with you?"

[Kaiu Hiroji]

Hiroji is silent. "There are a few. Though I am sure none of them were at the meeting. Or if they were I would be surprised."
