(D6 LA) A Late Lesson

[Ichiro Daisuke]

"We will have to see how things work our then." As he had no idea what he would be doing it the finals days of the miai. "Perhaps we could get together in a few days. If you aren't otherwise engaged."

[Shinjo Liu Yue]

"Hai. We can correspond then." Yue looked up to him with a smirk. "Does that mean you are done? I still have time if you wish to learn more. However, do not let me keep you if you must depart."

[Ichiro Daisuke]

"I don't have any pressing matters." He admitted after a moment. "What comes Next? After turning that is?"

[Shinjo Liu Yue]

Yue cupped her chin in thought. "Do you know how to control the speed of a horse?" she inquired. "You must know how to tell your steed how to go faster and how to slow down."

[Ichiro Daisuke]

"Well you taught me faster." He offered as a reminder. "Slowing down would be nice to know though." He assumed you just jerked on the reins hard or maybe shifted your weight backwards? But he didn't want to experiment and risk a fall again.

[Shinjo Liu Yue]

"I shift my weight to the back of the saddle. You may use the reins to signal her as well." Yue shrugged. "I assume you know which technique I use in battle."

[Ichiro Daisuke]

"I'd hope so." He said with a half smile, still he decided the reins would be the wiser choice, at least for now. Falling off backwards seemed much more painful then falling off sideways after all.

Bringing Hikazume to a light trot he then pulled gently back on the reins, hoping that was enough to have the horse slow it's progress.

[Shinjo Liu Yue]

Hikazume went to a complete stop and then looked at Yue. "Good! Both of you!" She tilted her head. "Do you want to try going faster? She still has some energy."

[Ichiro Daisuke]

"Alright." Faster sounded dangerous, but it was likely worth a shot. "Do I need to do anything different? Or just use the same movements I have been?" Who knows there might be a shortcut, some sort of stopped to super fast command.

[Shinjo Liu Yue]

"You need to tap harder against her side." Yue shrugged. "I would teach you my command words but they are in Mekhem. I believe teaching you how to pronounce them correctly would be difficult."

[Ichiro Daisuke]

"Your are likely right, I have no head for things like that." Math was the worse though. "It'd probably be easier teaching Hikazume new command words instead." One could tell from his tone he was jesting, well mostly."

Still he did what he was told digging his heels into the horse sharply bringing the horse up to a canter and speeding off.

[Shinjo Liu Yue]

"It may be easier for you," she joked back. "Hikazume appreciates consistency from me."

And then, the two were off. Yue called after him, "If you need to slow down, you should shift your weight backward. It does not need to be an exaggerated movement, Daisuke-dono!"

[Ichiro Daisuke]

He nodded, not that she would notice, but he was too busy to trying not to bite his tongue to speak, the ride at this speed was jarring to say the least. He did take her advice though, riding for a short while at the higher speed before slowing the horse down to a trot and returning.

[Shinjo Liu Yue]

Yue did not bother to run after the two. She kept a casual walking pace and maintained a warm smile. "How do you feel, Daisuke-dono?" she asked, anticipating excitement from the Badger.

[Ichiro Daisuke]

Excitement was note quite what she got. "I can understand why one would want to ride them." He offered after a moment. "But I think I'd need a bit more practice before I'm comfortable at that speed." Mountains were far better if you wanted to be someplace high.
