"How scandelous, I think our hosts would take offense should you and I ride off into the night."

Mei shares the laughter

"It is good to hear though that there are many you desire. It will make future alliances through marriage easier for the Unicorn"

"Definitely. Now it's your turn, Miya-sama. You are newly arrived, has someone caught your interest?"

[Miya Mei]

Mei nods.

"There is one. Shinjo Kemuri. We had danced together yesterday and had a horse race today. He seems fun, adventurous, well studied, and inquisitive"

Mei smirks

"And he was easy on the eyes"

[Togashi Udo]

"I understand that to be an important thing for someone you're seeing every day."

[Miya Mei]

"To some it matters, others not. It depends on how vital you value physical intimacy"

[Togashi Udo]

Udo nods. How very matter of fact.

[Miya Mei]

"Do you think marriage to soley be a job, a duty to perform regardless of ones self, or do you find there can be both satisfaction of self and satisfaction of duty in it?"

[Togashi Udo]

"I think it depends on the person getting married and their reasons for it. For myself, I think there can be both, but regardless I find great satisfaction in duty."

[Miya Mei]

"As any samurai should. I personally think that one could find great personal satisfaction as well. After all, in a marriage, if chosen well, one need not spend time at a brothel or sneak around in the night, for ones spouse could fullfil those desires"

[Togashi Udo]

"Is that something that's quite common, then? Sneaking around in the night?"

[Miya Mei]

"In many cases, yes. Sex before marriage has been deemed inappropriate when known, but if you are not caught it is acceptable, unless you get pregnant. But if one is caught sneaking it is often even worse than if they were found just having sex"

[Togashi Udo]

Udo's eyes widen a bit. It's not that what she's saying is so shocking; it's that it's shocking she's saying it to a total stranger.

"Well, thank you for informing me."

[Miya Mei]

"It is the duty of the Miya to be the Voice of the Empire. Explaining why Rokugan is the way it is, well, it is my job. There is no need for thanks."

[Togashi Udo]
