(Day 5, EA) No Sunshine? I'll Find My Own!

"How does that determine the reading? Does it make the divination happen or does the divination exist because of the future?"

[Moshi Asakiko]

"Every person has an energy within. They infuse their own energy to the coins or the sticks as they choose. This energy determine the coins chosen... This makes you get a path... we are in Ningen do and we have the will to decide if we follow that path or not. That is what I tell you if you follow certain path you can get to this place."

[Shinjo Monkhbaatar]

"Interesting. So it's kind of like... people's energy helps to determine the type of choices they could make and the divination helps you figure them out?"

[Moshi Asakiko]

"Hai... There are many path and I show just one." She nodded. "I heard that there are other ways of divination in the sands."

[Shinjo Monkhbaatar]

"I've heard that too. But I haven't had much opportunity for such things in my life. I've heard things like throwing animal bones and reading stars, but to me they're just small parts of larger stories."

[Moshi Asakiko]

"I can read the stars... I prefer sticks and coins. I feel a bit vulnerable at night." She confessed. "It's that my clan are devoted to lady Amaterasu and she blesses us with her power."

[Shinjo Monkhbaatar]

"I see. I can see how that might make night time feel uncomfortable for you. It's actually more comfortable for me. Much traveling was done during the night. The steppe and the sands were hot during the day so it was better to rest during the heat under Lady Amaterasu's light and ride while she rested," he says with a smirk.

[Moshi Asakiko]

"Oh... I see..." She nodded . "It seems that lady Amaterasu likes to play in the sands. Traveling at night here can be dangerous. Spirits stir and the darkness roams..." She warned the Shinjo.

[Shinjo Monkhbaatar]

"I imagine the days are much cooler. It was warm here before the rain, but far from the hottest I've experienced. Perhaps I'll grow to enjoy her warmth far more now that it's not as dangerously hot as it can be elsewhere," he says, smiling at her. "I'm sure her embrace will be far more comfortable within the Empire's borders."

"The days here are cooler. Winters can be harsh... specially if you live in the mountains. Lady Amaterasu is not up as often... and we enjoy the days she comes out." The Moshi smiled as she offered the tea to the Shinjo.

Accepting it, he nodded. "Thanks." He takes a sip and enjoys it for a moment.

"Makes me wonder if you'd enjoy the desert. You get to see her often and for long periods."

[Moshi Asakiko]

"I wonder as well but then..." She sipped her tea. "I don't know if the elemtal spirits roam those lands... I was talking with Iuchi sama and it seems that it would be difficult to have my blessings there."

[Shinjo Monkhbaatar]

"Yeah, I listened in on a discussion about just things just a bit ago. It was interesting. I've been taking to studying theological concepts and such here at the miai, learning about such things from priests that grew up here in the empire. It's interesting and enlightening."

[Moshi Asakiko]

"Have you met many priests? I am thinking on an event... more a demonstration... I would like as many shugenja as I can gather to join in." She said with a bright smile.

"Here? Not a great number, no. Iuchi Shaksaha and Kakita Nanami for sure, plus yourself. I'm also aware of Iuchi Dong-ha," he says.
