If Rolled Bamboo Had Stuffing (Day 6, LM)

[Miya Mei]

"They sound magnificent! I too now share your desire after only hearing your tale. Is there a reason we could not fullfill this fantasy?"

Mei gives Amaya her full attention, hand resting on the handles of her daisho

"Surely it must be a great honor to sit atop one, but norlt forbidden?"

[Ide Amaya]

"I daresay it is not forbidden, should both the rider and steed agree. But it would be forbidden to try acquire a foal or retired steed for yourself. But the gaijin steeds are still an experience all unto themselves. They are noble and strong in their own right, and beautiful."

[Miya Mei]

"I see."

Mei gets lost in thought for a moment, a twinkle in her eye, and then snaps back to reality.

"What do you ride, Ide-san?"

[Ide Amaya]

She was young, and she was naive, but she wasn't deaf or blind. She'd heard the whispers, and Mei's comment caused her to blush, wishing she'd drawn her fan and could hide her burning cheeks. "I did ride a gaijin horse, I've ridden a few, during my life. Sadly, though, she was not mine to keep and I ended up having to return her to the Moto before the ma-ai." This makes her wistful, "her name was Bo."

[Miya Mei]

Mei noticed the blush and looks away for a few moments.

"I am certain you will make another opprotunity to ride again, I imagine when you have riden once it would be difficult to never do so again."

[Ide Amaya]

"Exceedingly difficult," she agrees, "though it never seemed so these last few years, so weary I'd become. But I haven't ridden since I arrived at the village, and I ache to do so once more. Today's event has come as a gift from the Fortunes."

[Seppun Aramoro]

Yuki paused and frowned. "I am sorry to hear that Seppun-sama did not enjoy the meal, I've heard many had difficulties with the food. That was a shame, but, lesson learned, neh?" When the Imperial pulled out the fan she nodded, "Ah, that is a most lovely fan, Seppun-sama. While modesty is a virtue, acknowledgement of one's acts is equally important." She briefly smiled again.

"That is unfortunate, Seppun-sama. Unfortunately I've not met many of the women Unicorn here, so I could not hope to make a suggestion to you. I'm certain that with diligence you will find a bride. I have found that many of the Unicorn here are not so different from us, save for a few minor differences."

He lifted and eyebrow at her latest comment: "Seems the Unicorn I have met are from a different Clan to ones you have met. " He breaks into a chuckle "I have met one lady Ide, she seems more relate-able."

He pondered at some of her strikes earlier: "Certainly you are looking forward to more martial events, neh? I myself have some talent at carrying a blade, though I am not so well trained."

[Miya Mei]

"Exceedingly difficult," she agrees, "though it never seemed so these last few years, so weary I'd become. But I haven't ridden since I arrived at the village, and I ache to do so once more. Today's event has come as a gift from the Fortunes."

"I find if I don't ride regularly I get cranky, and my body tightens up. Sonething about it just is so relaxing. I look forward to the event as well, though I have never used a weapon as such. It should be interesting."

[Ide Amaya]

"From the day I could sit ahorse, I rode from Lady Amaterasu's first blush, until her light was almost gone. Reaching Rokugan and not having to saddle up immediately after breaking fast seemed like such a luxury I could barely imagine. But, here we are, six days later and my palms itch for the feel of the reins again."

[Miya Mei]

"You can always ride even if it does not lead anywhere, Ide-san. Sometimes I find those the best. No expectations, just enjoying the moment."

[Ide Amaya]

"I should like to be able to ride once I am married," she sighs wistfully, "but until all is said and decided, I cannot know quite what shape my future will take."

[Asako Yuki]

He lifted and eyebrow at her latest comment: "Seems the Unicorn I have met are from a different Clan to ones you have met. " He breaks into a chuckle "I have met one lady Ide, she seems more relate-able."

He pondered at some of her strikes earlier: "Certainly you are looking forward to more martial events, neh? I myself have some talent at carrying a blade, though I am not so well trained."

Yuki smiled. "That's good, Seppun-sama. I'm glad that, though you have not found everything to be to your liking, you have found someone to enjoy your time here with." Her smile faltered a bit as she thought about her own someone and she gripped her boken more tightly again in annoyance.

"Ano... Hai, I think that's where I am most likely to receive points, at least. I've enjoyed all of the events so far, even the egg hunt, aside from all the weasels." She shrugged a little.

[Miya Mei]

"I should like to be able to ride once I am married," she sighs wistfully, "but until all is said and decided, I cannot know quite what shape my future will take."

"Oh my dear, you shouldn't wait so long. Steal away an afternoon and ask someone to take you. I am sure than are many who would. Waiting til marriage is much to long."

[Ide Amaya]

Shaking her head softly, "no, I couldn't impose on my cousins as such. Already it reflects poorly on myself and my parents, to be the only Unicorn to arrive without my own steed. It is an embarrassment."

[Miya Mei]

Mei is silent for a few moments. She looks to the floor and thinks. Eventually, she looks up.

"You can ride Ti-Lu, if you wish. Just be easy on him as he is still healing from his sprain"
