If Rolled Bamboo Had Stuffing (Day 6, LM)

[Asako Yuki]

If there was any doubt that Yuki might have heard the rumors today, they were quickly dispelled by the series of loud shouts coming from the dojo, followed by solid thuds as Yuki took to beating the tar out of one of the defenseless rolled bamboo stands with a boken. While her frustration was evident, her form remained impeccable.

[Seppun Aramoro]

Enjoying the fresh breeze of the morning air the Imperial walked passed the Unicorn dojo, that is where he heard the sounds that caused him to grab at his scroll sache. Then he realised it came from the dojo.

Dojo of the Calm Heart?? Twice now has this proven to be an ironic joke.

He walks to the entrance and stand with have his body visible so that he may peer inside but remain ready to dive away. With sight of the young Asako beating the poor and helpless bambo he moved into the dojo.

An Asako filled with fury, the irony piles.

"As a Fire Kami Priest I can very easily help you dispatch that wicked bamboo Phoenix-san. Replacing the boken with a katana might help to." He mentions with a small smirk.

[Asako Yuki]

Yuki's focus never diverged from her task until her, rather violent, katas were finished. Breathing heavily the woman stepped away from the bamboo and grabbed a cloth to wipe her brow.

"Seppun-sama. An honor." She bowed to the man. "I expect the Unicorn wish to use these in an upcoming test, it would be rude as a guest to cut one to pieces beforehand."

[Miya Mei]

Mei walks to the Dojo amd rests her Yumi against the wall. She hums to herself and enters the building, bowing as appropriate to the front of the Dono, and then to those already present.

"Good morning!"

She positions herself far away from the two and then begins practicing draws with her katana

[Asako Yuki]

Yuki turned and bowed to the Miya as she arrived. "Miya-sama. Good morning." Then seeing that she was busying herself with other matters she turned her attention back to the Seppun.

[Seppun Aramoro]

Aramoro bows to the Miya:"Good morning Miya-sama" and leaves her to her duties, for now.

He turns to Yuki and bows his head in return to the Phoenix "Seppun Aramoro, Imperial sentry." He observes the severe punishment received by the bamboo. "Does the Phoenix Bushi normally apply such aggressive stances in battle? I was under the impression she Shiba-school, was, well, more defensive?"

A pretty girl though, such a shame she is dressed so plainly. Maybe it is because she is training.

[Ide Amaya]

Dressed once more in her pale sakura kimono, weasel balanced on her shoulder, Amaya wanders towards the Dojo after checking what event had been posted for the day. She recognises the two ladies, somewhat, the Phoenix she had met the first day, and the Imperial Miya who had recently arrived on her darling pony.

She was curious, of course, about Miya, but trod softly so as not to disturb anyone of their training.

[Miya Mei]

Mei had been conducting a series of draws and strikes from various poses, each lightning fast. When the newcomer arrived, she had just finished an elegant maneuver that started sitting and ended standing a good distance from her starting point.

She sheathes her blade with a satisfying click and bows to the newcomer.

"Good Morning, Unicorn-san. I am Miya Mei"

[Ide Amaya]

Bowing deeply, "well met, Miya-Sama. This one is Ide Amaya. Your skill, it is highly impressive." She tries not to sound overly excited, but she wants to clap her hands like a child. It felt wrong to reward such a display with such meagre praise.

[Miya Mei]

"It is a pleasure to meet you, Ide-san. And I thank you, I practice daily to ensure I stay capable. Do the Unicorn study the art of the draw?"

[Ide Amaya]

"It is not an art I am familiar with, but I am wholly unfamiliar with weapons of most kinds. The techniques I am most accustomed to seeing are all centered around being performed from horseback." Her eyes gain a sparkle, "speaking of which, I couldn't help but notice you arrived on a Rokugani mount."

[Miya Mei]

"I do not think there are any in the Empire who practice Iaijutsu from horseback. It would be an interesting site to see though."

Mei looks lost in thought for a moment before looking back to Amaya.

"Oh, Ti-Lu? Yes, most Miya of the Empire have a steed, it helps is perform our duty of sprrading news throughout the Empire"

[Asako Yuki]

Aramoro bows to the Miya:"Good morning Miya-sama" and leaves her to her duties, for now.

He turns to Yuki and bows his head in return to the Phoenix "Seppun Aramoro, Imperial sentry." He observes the severe punishment received by the bamboo. "Asako Yuki." She replies, bowing once more and not having any titles to put on the end of her name.

She glanced at the bamboo. "No, not so much, Seppun-sama. But the katana is an offensive weapon, even when used defensively. It is best to have some training in how to use the weapon to its full potential." One of the ties holding the bamboo together had cracked under the abuse, but not split.

[Ide Amaya]

"Oh, Ti-Lu? Yes, most Miya of the Empire have a steed, it helps is perform our duty of spreading news throughout the Empire"

"Ti-Lu? That's a pretty name,for a pretty horse. Do you enjoy riding?" She shakes her head, "forgive me, a silly question."

[Miya Mei]

"There is no such thing as a silly question. I love to ride. to feel the wind, to feel the bond between horse and rider, and to have the freedom to travel anywhere. It is lovely. I take it you share these feelings?"
