[D5 EA] Ulterior Motives (Amaya's Yurt) [Closed]

[Seppun Hitako]

"hmmm. I don't suppose you know of anyone here that has it? Or has the seeds of the plant it is grown from, that it could be cultivated here in the Empire?"

[Ide Amaya]

"Perhaps you might ask my cousin? Ide Samai? I think she brought some with her."

[Seppun Hitako]

Hitako smiles. "Thank you. I will try to do so. Could you arrange an introduction, perhaps?"

[Ide Amaya]

"Of course, it would be my pleasure. Is there a day or time that suits you?"

[Seppun Hitako]

"I'm trying to mostly be available, and to learn about the Unicorn. So, aside from the events, I am mostly available. Any time you find is good should be fine."

She smiled gently, and finished her cup. "Have you tried the tea without the butter? Does it make a big difference, or not much of one?"

[Ide Amaya]

"I have. Indeed I have tried tea in many ways. I have had tea where the leaves were boiled in milk with spices, and tea made tart with slices of lemon. Certain teas work better with different accompaniments, I think."

[Seppun Hitako]

"And have you tried the slow-brewed tea, served chilled? It's not common outside of Otosan Uchi, I don't think, but it's really very good."

[Ide Amaya]

"Incredible. I have tried nothing like that. And it sounds like it would be well suited to cooling the throat after a hot day's ride."

[Seppun Hitako]

Hitako frowns ever so slightly. "I don't know if that would work. It is made by leaving it in the sun all day, then put in a cold-room overnight. Unless you ended riding at a location with those, it wouldn't work, I don't think. At least, not the chilled part. Only the sun-made part."

[Ide Amaya]

"Well, you see now why I have not been blessed to try such a thing." She smiles warmly.

[Seppun Hitako]

"I think I know what the Unicorn need to do. Create Shiro, Kyuden, or the like, that dot the plains here, and have a rotating schedule of who is hosting them, and the rest can ride between them like they want. Each would thus spend some time hosting, and learning what that is like, and some time riding, and recalling what that is like."

[Ide Amaya]

She sips her tea, "an intriguing idea. I shall have to convey that back to the Clan."

[Seppun Hitako]

"It would also give you places to host those of other clans that are more used to large castles, and not to wandering, or to tents." She shrugs. "It is not perfect, no. But it grants the most flexibility, giving both sides something that they are comfortable with."

[Ide Amaya]

"Unfortunately time was not in favour for this ma-ai. Not that I quite understand the urgency."

[Seppun Hitako]

She waves her hand by her head. "Oh, yes, much too late for this. Merely a consideration for the future, as you resettle here."
