Hunting the Unknown (Day 5, EM)

[Shinjo Kemuri]

He unwrapped the bundle, presenting her with the onigiri and a smile. "Here's hoping we both get what we deserve."

[Matsu Kogo]

She takes the onigiri from his hand and smiles broadly. "I would definitely drink to that, but I fear I am less prepared than you and have brought nothing but water with me for such an early morning. However, I offer it." She brings out the water and a cup. "I fear we may have to sit down or you will have to help me pour. I am no juggler like some of the Hare clan that I have heard of."

[Shinjo Kemuri]

He looked around them at the muddy earth.

"Hold on to these for a moment, please."

He rewrapped the bundle and handed it to her. Going to Sarangerel, he untied a rolled up blanket and laid it on the ground. Retrieving the onigiril and taking the water, he then motioned for her to sit.

[Matsu Kogo]

She smiled at his planning. "I was correct. You are always prepared. And I am grateful for it, with this muddy ground." She sits down, the items in hand, patting Noburu to lie down nearby. "Keep those muddy paws off the blanket cat." Noburu growls for a moment and flops her body on the blanket, her paws dangling. She looks at Kogo once she has lain down with a 'see, I did it' sort of look. Kogo snickers. "Such a noble beast, my lionness."

[Shinjo Kemuri]

"I am a scout. I don't always have the luxury of a yurt." he shrugged as he sat down. "Noburu-san is wonderful."

[Matsu Kogo]

She laughs. "You are one of the first to say so. She is incorrigible at times. But I would not be without her, even with her muddy paws." She leans over to rub Noburu's head and butts her head. "Yes you silly beast. Even when you snore." She moves back over and reopens the pack of onigiri, holding it so may choose his own.

[Shinjo Kemuri]

He selected one, dipping his head in thanks.

"Even with the crater and the mud, this has been a very good morning."

[Matsu Kogo]

She takes one of the onigiri in her hand and before biting into it, says "I would agree. The rain yesterday had me feeling so enclosed. Being outside has been a gift." She then chomps into the onigiri.

[Shinjo Kemuri]

"At least the rain gave me a chance to do laundry." he took a few bites. "That was quite a storm, though. I've never seen one like it before."

[Matsu Kogo]

She nods. "I haven't seen one in some time. It seemed more violent and sudden than I have seen before." She pauses. "That was a wise notion. The storm could beat the dirt out much faster than your hands, I suspect."

[Shinjo Kemuri]

"Well, my clothes were particularly dirty." he laughed. "Of course, the mud will probably dirty everything again. But, it's worth it."

[Matsu Kogo]

She laughs. "It is a way of teaching patience perhaps or something like that. The never ending battle with mud!"

[Shinjo Kemuri]

He nodded. " Definitely an exercise in patience. It's a good trait t o have, but difficult to maintain. Sometimes, it's very hard not to do what you want to."

[Matsu Kogo]

She nods. "It is. Finding a balance is a tricky thing. One's wishes and one's duty at times do not align at times." She looks somber for a moment, but recovers. "But there is greatness in one's duty. There is more than oneself present there. It has its own rewards, though they are long in coming at times."

[Shinjo Kemuri]

"I have heard that patience is its own reward." He nodded. "That can certainly be true in hunting. But, one still needs to seize the opportunities they are given."
