[D5 EE] Final Rites (OPEN)

[Togashi Udo]

Udo breaks out of his silence and approaches the two Crab, standing a respectful distance away in case they wish their conversation to be private.

Spotting Udo nearby, Tomonaga quickly waves him over. "Togashi-san. Please, join us. We were just sharing a drink to honor Chi Pu." He pulls out the fine ceramic bottle, unstopping it with one hand. "Do you have a cup?"

Udo approaches and bows to them each. "I do not, but it is of no concern." He looks out over those gathered. "A fine send off for a noble samurai."

[Matsu Yurio]

"Not in the traditional sense. I still uphold the duties my family name confers, hence why I have a steed and some courtly training."

She taps her hip.

"But all of my formal training was done with the Kakita at their dueling academy."

There was the slightest of twitches to his left eyebrow at mention of Crane training.

"Good that I asked then, I could have misrepresented you."

[Yasuki Tomonaga]

Udo approaches and bows to them each. "I do not, but it is of no concern." He looks out over those gathered. "A fine send off for a noble samurai."

Tomonaga frowned. "Here. Give me a minute." There was only a gulp left of sake in his cup. Briefly stowing the bottle, he brought out a handkerchief, and began carefully cleaning the rim.

"Hiroji-san told me that you were also in the battle against the dragon." He said bowing to the Togashi, even as he kept cleaning his cup.

[Miya Mei]

There was the slightest of twitches to his left eyebrow at mention of Crane training.

"Good that I asked then, I could have misrepresented you."

"Well, now you know. And you? I do not sense the typical.."

Mei raises her fan a little higher

"...ferocity..."

She lowers it down again

"The Matsu are known. The way you speak and carry yourself seems more Akodo or Ikoma"

His eyebrow twitched again.

"This is hardly the place for anger. The Lion were not involved in this battle. You are right though. I attended the Akodo War College and not my family school."

[Shinjo Liu Yue]

Mizuki smiles weakly behind her mask. I assure you, Yue, all of my pain is self-inflicted. I do not regret who was in bed last night. She regrets anyone being there, but that's a different story.

"Some kumis sounds nice. I haven't tried it, but this seems like the time."

"Sou desu ka." She had no idea what else to say. To offer her condolences felt fake.

"Hai. I will follow your lead, Yogo-san." She was unsure of whom her beloved would want to approach at a time like this. However, they had to find someone in order to have any kumis.

[Miya Mei]

His eyebrow twitched again.

Her voice has a slight hint of venom with the words before returning to a neutral tone

She motions back to the others.

"So, what else shold we know before we try this game..."

Mei taps her fan to hip.

"Ah! What is your biggest accomplishment, Matsu-san?"

[Matsu Yurio]

Out talked by an Imperial. Not really surprising.

"I have yet to serve my clan in battle, Miya-sama, my moments of glory are still ahead of me."

I am not telling that story about the boar again.

[Otomo Tenzo]

As the drinks were poured out, Tenzo fiddled with his side pouch and produced from it his personal sake cup, one of deep black lacquered wood, and he presented his cup for the servants to pour for him a cup of kumis, feeling it appropriate to drink the drink of the Unicorn in honor of the fallen. He raised his cup in the air when toasts in honor of Chi-Pu were made and, after downing about half of it, stood around for the time being and mulling in quiet thought as he watched the other half of it swirl about in the cup.

[Bayushi Hotaru]

Hotaru was there to observe and not get in the way of the proceedings. She personally took notes of the ritual and custom herself. It was perhaps a small highlight to see Dong-Ha go about his proceedings as a spiritual leader, instead of someone who fooled around objects with foreign mysticism, for a change. From where she stood in the crowds, she would mutter a final prayer to the fallen, her soul and where she would go. Hopefully, there were better days ahead for everyone at the miai. This tragedy only needed to happen once.

When the drinks began flowing, likely milk-laced drinks at that, she saw that as probably her cue to leave before she could embarrass herself at the funeral. She did have other places to go too. Taking careful steps back, she planned to make her quiet getaway and fade into the night...

[Miya Mei]

Out talked by an Imperial. Not really surprising.

She taps her hip again.

"I inherited the ancestral sword of my sensei for my skills. Surely Matsu-san has something noteworthy about him."

[Togashi Udo]

"It is true, though others' blows rang out harder."

"Hello again, Hiroji-san. Each time we've met, there has been a battle. It is good to break that record this evening."

[Matsu Kogo]

Kogo-san realizes Otaku-sama's duties and nods to her, drinking the sake. She listens to the conversation around her, content for the moment to experience. Shimizu-san has surprised her with his eloquence today, both in the eulogies and just now. "Shimizu-san, your eloquence does our Clan proud. You did honor to Otaku-sama's memory. I am impressed."

[Shimizu Ryori]

He bows his head humbly toward the other beastmaster "when your mother is an Omidasu you lwarn at an early age to mind your manners and how to turn a phrase in court I briefly considered becoming one myself"

[Matsu Kogo]

She nods. "You might have done well there. But Kyra would not be by your side if that were the case."
