The cat climbed over the moon (day 5, LE, Open)

[Soshi Taira]

Taira glanced at his cousin, and smirked "What? You don't want to relax after you kill a dragon?"

[Soshi Yuuru]

He chuckled, "There's a difference between relaxing and sulking like a school girl."

[Soshi Taira]

"You wound me."

Taira made a falsely petulant face. "Even my tools cannot mend a broken heart."

It was, somewhat evidently, a sarcastic, self-deprecating statement.

[Soshi Yuuru]

He chuckled, "Time will sure to be heal what your skills can't. Unfortunately you don't have a lot of time to sulk around. In a few days you'll have to pick your spouse. Stay positive... the world ain't over yet."

He smiled, "What do you think of this conversation Ryuuta-san?"

[Ryuuta Tsume]

Tsume has stopped praying a bit ago and thinks for a moment.

"While I would not want to intrude on your thoughts spoken aloud but privately, I must say that perseverance and endurance are virtues because where perfection and beauty fail, they continue. Yes, things degrade and corrode, but if one looks a bit further they are reborn, made anew and restored. That things pass should be a comfort, because without them there would be nothing new."

Tsume looks at her little shrine, and tries to do the same herself.

[Soshi Yuuru]

Yuuru smiled and nodded, "See? This stuff will pass... and better stuff will emerge if you keep at it."

He then turned to the Ryuuta, "Thank you Ryuuta-san. I know I can always count on my friends in the Piranha to have a good bit of wisdom to share. I'm Soshi Yuuru by the way... stationed in the Shinomen in relation to my duties with assisting your clan."

[Ryuuta Tsume]

"I am called Ryuuta Tsume. I am glad to meet another who knows the forest. It has become a good home."

Tsume rises to offer a bow.

[Soshi Yuuru]

He nodded, "It is. I enjoy the adventure that you all are engrossed in... Shinomen is a good second home for me as well."

[Soshi Taira]

Taira listened quietly.

He'd been to the shinomen, but did not spend as much time there as they did.

Besides, they had interrupted his sulk, so he didn't feel the need to be especially personable.

[Ryuuta Tsume]

"It is in the trials of our friends in the Tausha's Leigon and their work with their uncivilized cousins where I began to realize how important simply placing one foot in front of the other continuously is. They have suffered much in their long absence, but I have never met one who did not express hope for their future."

Tsume looks at the little flame, then to Taira for a moment.

Sometimes insight is best found in conversation.

[Soshi Yuuru]

He nods, "There's much to be said for perseverance. The sun will continue to rise... that is the way of this realm."

[Soshi Taira]

"And the sun will continue to set."

Taira crossed his arms, and gazed at the moon.

"Then the moon will rise, and melancholy souls will whistle at the moon."

[Soshi Yuuru]

Yuuru couldn't help but laugh at the Soshi's moping. He laughed for a few good seconds.

"My goodness man... hehehe... You seem to be all sorts of distraught."

[Soshi Taira]

"It's the cycle of life."

Taira rolled his eyes.

"The Moon has a beauty of its own. It is not so bad to whistle at it, from time to time."

[Soshi Yuuru]

"Didn't your mother ever tell you that if you whistled at night the snakes would come out and bite you?" He smiled.
