No. You roll at the start of your turn, and if you don't win, then you don't do anything.

Are there any medical rolls I can make to stabilize/save her legs and stuff, even though I can't restore wounds? Just keep the Mantis together enough to be moved into shelter?

Is there a legitimate cause of action to be advanced that the Unicorn have failed to protect their guests during the miai, as evidenced by some parties lack of eyes due to weasel mauling?
