A polite nod was given to the Piranha as she arrived before he turned his eyes back to Takeo. "Hai, thanks for getting all this together Kitsune-sama. It's far better then anything I would of done."

He looks around the group, noticing at last that he and Takeo were quite outnumbered by the fairer sex. "Though I imagine we might be making a few of the Unicorn men jealous about right now."

[Ryuuta Tsume]

"Well, perhaps they too will invite me to picnics. A kind of escalation I could certainly not fault."

Tsume positions herself so that her hat blocks the harsh light and wishes she had the foresight to bring a fan.

[Yuzuki]

She gave a slight bow at the conclusion of Takeo's little speech.

The Mantis have a specific task? Oh right the charter... uhmm...

"I wasn't expecting this many of us here," she said.

"It is quite the opportunity to make connections for us, both among ourselves and the great clans. We would be remiss not to take advantage."

Tsume observes the others nearby who are not part of the picnic.

"Especially to meet newcomers."

[Kitsune Takeo]

"In my estimation so far, the Unicorn have been exceptional hosts and the ones I have met are closer to our ways than we might think after 700 years," Takeo said as he nodded in agreement.

"As for the jealousy," he said with a wink to Daisuke, "We are each of us pledged to a Unicorn spouse. If anything we are simply highlighting the company they will soon get to enjoy."

[Yuzuki]

"Really? They seem pretty different."

She idly looked toward some horses in the distance.

"I'm willing to keep an open mind of course, it'll take time for them to adjust. But I can only imagine what some of the great clans must be thinking.

[Matsu Kogo]

After the events of last night and this morning, Taichi was quite exhausted but doing his best not to show it. Ever since the run in with what had apparently been an oni, Harukaze seemed nervous - something very unbecoming of his steed. She apparently needed some training.

Spotting the figure he was looking for, Taichi started to wave, then lowered his hand and bowed from the saddle instead.

Kogo noticed the nervousness of the steed and the slight change in Shinjo-san's posture. She clicked her tongue and used a command word to keep Noburu farther back than she had from the other steeds they had so far met. "Shinjo-san, how are you this warm afternoon?"

[Ryuuta Tsume]

"Really? They seem pretty different."

"At least they have feet?"

Tsume watches the Lion and Unicorn interaction with interest.

"Our host has encouraged us all to be patient and open-minded with eachother... that goes for the Unicorn as well. To be honest, apart from the Moto, the Unicorn samurai I've spoken with have all been friendly and positive towards learning."

[Yuzuki]

"The Moto seem... the most different. But interested in learning in their own way too."

[Kitsune Takeo]

"My own encounters with the Ide and Otaku have left me with the idea that the differences we perceive are predominantly outward. Internally their hearts beat as the hearts of any samurai - a devotion to bushido and a duty to the Emperor. These things are the core of the samurai - everything else is dressing."

[Usagi Tomoe]

"Hmm..." she couldn't really seeing any Otaku men listed. "Kitsune-sama is seeking a wife from the Otaku?"

[Kitsune Takeo]

Takeo thought on the question a moment before replying, "I am seeking a wife from among the Unicorn, but I should consider myself honored if I were to wed either the Otaku or a lady of the Shinjo."

[Kitsune Kumahime]

A large woman approaches, carrying a big, hearty-smelling pot in one hand, and bowls and utensils in the other. She sets down her pot and bows to those gathered, "Greetings, honored guests. I am Kitsune Kumahime, Student of the Proud Bear, and lunch has arrived!"

She starts doling out her work, a stew of rice and chicken and thick, starchy vegetables she hadn't worked with before, but were close enough to things she'd seen, and she discussed them with the quartermaster for tips on how best to prepare it anyways. "Our hosts were kind enough to provide some of their cheese, as well, for those who enjoyed it. It should go well with the stew. Please, eat up!" She presses a bowl on the willowy Moshi; she could definitely use a good meal.
