Dark Edge Village

She was awake as Lady Amaterasu's blush first touched the sky, through the vent in the roof of the yurt the sky is a flat pale silver without enough light to even give the underside of the clouds texture. She stretched her legs, trying not to disturb the sleeping Imperial. Slipping out of his arms, she goes to the firepot and restarts the fire there, gently coaxing the flames to life and putting the grille on top of the pot.

The kettle was still full of water, she'd filled it before leaving for the funeral the previous day, to be able to make tea after she returned. But they hadn't made tea. She was grateful for that, she wouldn't have to dress and fetch water. She put the kettle on to heat and began laying out the tea set and two cups.

Hideo had slept later than Amaya, warm and comfortable after a lovely night holding the most important person close to him. He hadn't even noticed she had moved away, so deep his loving dreams were, and a smile was still on his face.

While the water was heating, she returned to Hideo's side, sitting beside him. Her hip was next to his chest, her feet weren't tucked under her, but slightly off to the side, away from him. She stroked his hair gently, not seeking to wake him up, for he seemed very content.

But she does begin to sing, quietly.

Hideo slowly began to wake at the beautiful singing by his side. He turned over and his eyes opened, looking up at Amaya. He smiled warmly at her, his eyes full of love as he gazed upon her. He brought his hand up to rest on hers, remaining quiet until the song finished.

"That was the most beautiful song I've ever heard" he whispered quietly after a few moments.

She stroked a strand of hair back from Hideo's face and smiled down at him. "I'm sorry, did I wake you? I didn't mean to."

Hideo sat up slowly, his eyes not leaving hers. "I cannot think of a more perfect way to way up." He moved closer to her, and his lips met hers in a deep loving embrace, his arms wrapping round her and holding her to him.

She melts into his arms and his kiss, one hand goes to his neck, sliding her fingers deep into his hair. There was something she meant to say in answer, but it fled her as the kiss lingered on.

Hideo strokes down her back gently, his hand holding her head as the kiss lingered on, and after a very quick break he kissed her again. Eventually the kisses finally ended, and he opened his eyes to look deeply into hers with flustered cheeks

She murmurs contentedly, her body pressed against his, her skin warm. "Did you sleep well?"

"With you in my arms, I had the best sleep of my life" Hideo said quietly with a smile, stroking the girls hair "I hope you slept well also my love?"

"I did," she tilted her head slightly and a smile curled her lips, "I never imagined how it would feel to sleep so closely beside another person."

"Bliss, neh?" Hideo said with a nod "and that will be the rest of our lives. A warm embrace, the sound of each others breathing in sleep, and then finally the sight of each other as the first thing we see in the morning. Can you think of a more perfect way to spend the night?"

She thought back to the intimacies they had shared the night before, and blushed quite brightly, "I cannot."

Hideo chuckled, leaning in to kiss her gently once again. "You really turn a quite adorable shade of red my beautiful Amaya."

"That would be all your doing, Hideo-San," she moved her delicate body against his, fingers twisting in his hair. Her other hand comes up to grip his shoulder as she kisses him in return.
