Dark Edge Village

Liu Yue came to the yurt of Shinjo, soon to be Doji, Akil. She scratched at the post with Gon at her side. By then, the puppy had learned to at least wait before dashing inside tents. "Liu Yue desu!" she announced.

Akil has been packing everything up when Liu Yue announced herself. "Ah, come in!" He called to her, as he moved to clean the corner where his clothing was.

Gon ran ahead and dove into the clothing. Yue shook her head and pulled him out. "Gomennasai, Akil-san." Yue scratched the back of her head. "Will I be calling you Doji-san in the future?" She gave a faint smirk. "I suppose you would not have me do so. However, I am unsure if your wife would think it proper for me to continue using your name."

He shook his head as he wrapped his arm around her shoulder. "I should always be Akil to you. I'm fairly certain that Fu-chan will trust me when I explain we are just friends, neh?"

"Fu-chan?" Yue let out a small giggle. "You two are quite close, Akil-san." She then shook her head, though her smile still remained. "I did not think that Doji-san would be suspicious of my intentions. I only believe her to view proper etiquette to be of the utmost importance.'

"We are indeed," he nodded, "and I think that as long as you aren't giving me pet names or the like, she will find you perfectly fine."

"Do I seem like the sort to do so, Akil-san?" she asked, genuinely puzzled. She looked to her little puppy sprinting around the room. "I do not call my hound as anything but Gon."

He shrugged, "as I never need to be concerned with courting you, I never need to worry about finding out."

His other hand moved and Pat Gon's head. "You went with Hirase after all."

Yue tilted her head. "What are you implying with my pick of Hirase?" She was not offended but again merely confused.

"Nothing. You just seemed uncertain before. I'm glad, mind. I like Hirase."

"I talked extensively with my suitors and others about the decision. I am certain that Hirase-san was the right choice for me." Yue gave a soft smile. "Do you think I was too bold for giving him my fan in the middle of the choosing?"

"I don't think so," he shook his head, "it made your intent clear without you having to about it out to the Heavens."

"I thought myself as perhaps insensitive to Hirase-san's predicament at the moment. However, I think my message was clear." She let out a soft sigh. "I am glad that your relationship with Doji-san did not have to go through such peril."

"It had it's own difficulties, but I'm also glad that I didn't have the same concerns," he nodded calmly. He patted her shoulder than gave her some separation. "Unfortunately, I am already rather packed, else I would offer you a proper futon to sit on."

"Daijoubu, Akil-san." She remained standing and scratched the back of her head. "I wonder if people envy you two. I imagine some may have wished their suitor was higher ranked in the system."
