[Ide Amaya]

This relaxed her a little, but she was still nervous. "Your cousin, Hideo-Sama, he mentioned that I might be able to borrow a kimono? something in green? I only own the two," she indicates to the damp kimono still drying on the rack next to them, and the one she is wearing. "With the rain yesterday..." she trailed off, the rain was only an excuse, after all. "I'll be sure to have it returned to you before the end of the ma-ai, in better condition than I borrowed it."

[Seppun Hitako]

"An interesting request. I admit, I did not bring as much as I would have available to me elsewhere. Only three kimono, and robes for my status as a shugenja. This one, which would not be suitable for you to wear, one that is also very wet, and another I might be able to do. Unless you are hiding gifts of speaking with the kami? She shakes her head, "I'm terribly sorry, Seppun-Sama. While I can sew a little, I would not dare risk damage to a borrowed garment. I am shamed by my request, and humbled by your graciousness. Please, have another piece of boortsog, and if there is anything I can answer or perform for you, only speak it."

[Seppun Hitako]

"Do not be so quick to decline. This is an opportunity. Are you needing it for common use, for an event, or just for the morrow? Do you know any that might be able to sew? Samurai, or heimin?"

[Ide Amaya]

"No doubt a number of the heimin can sew with skill, it should not be difficult to find one to do the required work. Though I did not have a specific event in mind, only," she blushes and looks down, picking up her tea cup and taking a long draught.

[Seppun Hitako]

Hitako uses the cup she has to hide her smile, as she takes another sip. "Only?"

[Ide Amaya]

She recalls her conversation with Taira the day before, that applies here, as well, surely? She takes another swallow of tea and puts the cup down once more. "There is someone I should like to please. Someone with a penchant for Imperial green."

[Seppun Hitako]

"Ah. Well, surely it is possible to find a devoted seamstress to alter the kimono. Thus, within a short period, perhaps overnight, it could be ready for you."

[Ide Amaya]

"I would have no way of repaying your kindness, and I do not wish you to be inconvenienced if there is another downpour."

[Seppun Hitako]

"As I would still have my robes, which are quite sturdy, and my other kimono would be dried by then, it shouldn't be a problem. As for repaying me... we can hold that in abeyance. It is what friends do, hai? Exchange favors as needed?"

[Ide Amaya]

"Certainly, I find myself in your debt."

[Seppun Hitako]

"I will have a servant send it over tonight. And, I hope you know, do not wear it until it has been altered - wearing mons that are not your own is a, well, a very bad thing. I am sure you know this, intellectually, but for those of us that grew up here, it is something we know at a fundamental level." She takes another sip. "I wonder, would this manner of serving tea work with others, or is it limited to certain types of tea?"

[Ide Amaya]

"Thank you, kindly. I will of course ensure to take the appropriate care."

She sips her tea, "I imagine it depends on personal taste. There are places* where they serve coffee with a hunk of cheese in it. I cannot say that I've tried that myself."

Hitako looks dismayed at this thought. "I have heard of coffee, from my studies, but have never had it. Have you?"

[Ide Amaya]

"I have. It is very different to tea. Bitter, strong. But it's hot and rejuvenating."
