9th day of the Month of the Monkey, 758

The day is partially cooled by an eastern wind which brings heavy clouds and the scent of rain. When the storm finally breaks in the early evening, it unleashes a torrent of water that bombards the land below through the Early Night. Anyone stepping outside for even a moment is soaked through, and even an umbrella doesn't do much to keep one dry, on account of the wind. Thunder rumbles overhead, and flashes of lightning can sometimes be seen in the sky... along with a sinuous, serpentine shape, glimpsed so briefly that it's difficult to tell whether it was real or imagined...

Rumors

It seems that Matsu Nintoku and Moto Khulan have already decided who they want to marry. They were spotted making out with each other during Soshi Bantu's game night last night. You'd think that a Matsu would have better control over his lusty thoughts...

Lots of samurai have been taking horseback riding lessons from the Unicorn. Maybe they expect to be marrying into the Clan, instead of the other way around?

Speaking of Moto Khulan, it sounds like she has an ancient relic that was a gift to Lady Shinjo from Lady Doji. She received it from a talking bird that said she was destined for great things. It's like something out of a pillowbook!

That Mantis, Yuzuki, really put on quite the good feast. Despite a cat ruining a good portion of the food, the night was saved by the presence of Golden Carp sake!

Did you see Otaku Imane at the archery range yesterday? She has quite the keen eye and stead aim! She would be a catch for anyone seeking a warrior bride.
