Otherwise, I'll probably attempt grapples just to open it up to you guys and minimize dragon based death.

If you start in defense you are stuck there first round.

Why I find all the defense stances a bit silly.

Also, looking at the situation, if I, despite being blessed by sakkaku can't talk to it, I doubt you can.

I could grapple, and that drops the armor TN of the beastie so you can call raises.

Large things like Otaku Battle Steeds have a trait called Huge, making them immune to grapple. I image the Orochi does too

You can still probably attack it with juijutsu. TN 20. Any damage we can put on it helps.
