The Arrival of the Condemned (EM, D1)

[Yogo Mizuki]

Having put her stuff away, Mizuki wanders the yurts looking for someone. Once she finds him, she approaches and bows.

"Suteichi-kun. It is nice to see you here. Have you eaten rice today?"

[Bayushi Suteichi]

"Yogo-sempai." his voice was almost jovial. "Indeed I have had Inari's blessing. Have you?"

[Yogo Mizuki]

"Hai. I just arrived and left my stuff in my room." Mizuki looks at the yurt. "So, this is where you will be staying?"

[Bayushi Suteichi]

"These accommodations will serve as...home for now. It's humble."

[Yogo Mizuki]

"It looks... cozy." Mizuki tries to helpful. "I suppose it helps experience what being Unicorn will be like."

Maybe best to change the subject. "Are you excited? It seems strange knowing we will be leaving here engaged."

The list of arts seemed to go on and on! Who knew there were so many kinds?

"Dancing sounds good," Baatar said finally. "I bet I could learn that! Can you dance, Doji-san?"

The Doji shakes her head.

"No, my training mostly revolves around singing and storytelling." she says. "But I will ask around for you Moto-san. Your passion for it is a flame, now we simply must find the tinder. I will find you an instructor."

Hideo had fallen silent as he listened to the discussions, but he was smiling. While the Moto clearly needed to be worked on a little, the new clan working with the clan of elegance boded well.

"Moto-san" Hideo finally spoke "are there no dances in the Unicorn?"

"No, my training mostly revolves around singing and storytelling." she says. "But I will ask around for you Moto-san. Your passion for it is a flame, now we simply must find the tinder. I will find you an instructor."

"Ah! We do have singers and storytellers," Baatar said, his face lighting up. "So maybe we can art after all! I don't know very many songs but I can sing loud. What songs do Crane sing?"

"Moto-san" Hideo finally spoke "are there no dances in the Unicorn?"

"I have seen some dancers among our kind, and among the other peoples who wander the sands," he admitted. "I don't know how to do it though."

He gave a slight shrug at that with a faint smile. "We are here to perform a duty and I am looking to accomplishing it. I hope that during the course of this we can...collaborate on our purpose?" Suteichi produced some sweets and offered them.

"I have no water yet for gyokuro tea, but may I offer you some daifuku, honored sempai-sama?"

He gave a slight shrug at that with a faint smile. "We are here to perform a duty and I am looking to accomplishing it. I hope that during the course of this we can...collaborate on our purpose?" Suteichi produced some sweets and offered them.

"I have no water yet for gyokuro tea, but may I offer you some daifuku, honored sempai-sama?"

Kogo looks on from the door of her tent, studying the patterns in which they interact. Such an interesting mask. I wonder what causes Scorpion to choose which mask. That would probably be an impertinent question to ask. She busies herself with readying a small snack for Noburu, some dried meat strips and a bowl of water.

[Doji Fukawa]

Well, you see, there is this traitorous clan call the Phoenix who wear red and orange. Far worse than the Scorpion and.... Fukawa thought darkly.

But no, she was far too honorable to lead one so earnest astray.

"About anything that inspires them, really, Moto-san. If you pressed me on the matter, I would say that the two main topics tend towards Beauty and Love. Our clan has long been blessed with a connection to Benten, and so she inspires many. Also, in matters of courtly romance, writing or singing a song about your love without revealing who they are is very well admired indeed. I recall one song last winter written about such a beauty. It went on and on about how beautiful their love was. 'The swan was in her movement, and the morning in her smile.' It was all the court court talk about for weeks was who said beauty was." she reveals.

[Moshi Asakiko]

"Well then, let's go set it up. And then we can find out what my future holds," he says happily. "Sound good?"

She looked at the horse then to the Shinjo. "Anooo... Ah... Hai..." The small Moshi started walking down the street, being small wasn't helping speed wise.

The slow pace didn't really bother the Shinjo at all. "So you're a diviner. That's neat. There were people called the Ra'Shari out in the sands that had quite a few diviners in their number."

"Really! that is quite interesting." She nodded. "I also like to know if there any flowers in the desert."

[Shinjo Monkhbaatar]

"Some, but not many. We would look for wild onions and leeks after rain. There is also tamarisk. But it is rare to see much of any of them, even rarer to see their flowers in bloom."

He looks over at her. "But I can tell you that it's always a lovely experience, seeing an exotic beauty up close."

A pause as he looked back to the Crane. The little flower in the conversation. "Perhaps Moto-san could arrange for yourself to perform with some of the artistic members of the Unicorn?"

Though she usually doesn't bother to put on makeup, she knew she was seeing her dear friend and may be removing her mask, thus making herself look acceptable.

"Of course, I will help you anyway you can. Do you have a specific bride or type in mind?" Mizuki for her part, only wanted to find a man that her father would be happy with. Something that Suteichi knows is... unlikely to say the least.

"If I had my choice..." he began taking off his mask as well. He sat next to his sempai and took a daifuku for himself. "I would choose an Otaku or an Ide. They seem the most closer to the empire's ways. I could be partial to a Shinjo... Truth is, a suitable wife would be one who would be a great asset. I will not settle for a docile bride. That would be greatly annoying."
