(D4 EE, Suteichi's Yurt) The Little Sister

[Shinjo Liu Yue]

"Hai. I understood that part." Yue took another bite and kept her eyes lowered. "I imagine that your Clan has similar views on their own masks, Suteichi-san," she continued, her thoughts drifting to the beautiful Yogo and her own mask.

[Bayushi Suteichi]

"We do. We more or less choose our mask after completing our gempuku. So. Between you, me, and... the walls here. Are there any other suitors vying for Liu Fei-san's hand?" Seeing her devour the cookies he had more but he brought out some other sweets.

"Ah...you liked the daifuku. Please...enjoy."

[Shinjo Liu Yue]

Yue shifted in her seat. "I mentioned Taira-dono earlier. I have been giving Asako Hirase-san horseback riding lessons too. I promised a few more men lessons too. I have spoken with Yogo Yuichi-dono a couple times too."

She looked down at the daifuku with a big smile and took one. "Arigatou gozaimasu!"

[Bayushi Suteichi]

"Yes...but that was in reference to you. I was asking about Liu Fei." he thought about how that could have came across.

"Not that you are not worthy of being sought after. You are quite a lady. I was just curious as to...any...other suitors that I could be competing against."

[Shinjo Liu Yue]

"Oh." Yue stuffed her face with more food. "Gomennasai. I misheard you, Suteichi-san."

The younger sister thought on Fei for a moment. "I cannot think of another man to compete with you," she said earnestly. "We met Kitsune Takeo together. However, I do not think he is a choice of hers. I believe Fei has met with Yasuki Tomonaga but she has not spoken of him as a suitor."

She let out a nervous giggle. "If there is a competition, I believe you are winning, Suteichi-san."

[Bayushi Suteichi]

Suteichi allowed for a faint smile to creep onto his face.

"Fair enough. You are quite hungry."

[Shinjo Liu Yue]

Yue frowned for a brief moment. She did not expect him to talk about her appetite. "I am always hungry," she admitted. "I imagine it is because of my height."

[Bayushi Suteichi]

"Please understand, I meant no disrespect. You're a healthy woman and there are plenty of suitors who very much are in to a hearty, healthy woman."

[Shinjo Liu Yue]

The Shinjo set down her snack and stared at the Bayushi across from her. "Let us talk about something else, Suteichi-san," was all she said after a long silence.

[Bayushi Suteichi]

"I apologize. My compliment was sincere not to insult. What would you like to discuss?"

[Shinjo Liu Yue]

Liu Yue prodded her treat a little. "I assume my sister does not have any competitors," she stated, though she obviously left it open to Suteichi to respond.

[Bayushi Suteichi]

Suteichi nodded.

"What are your plans after the Miai, Liu Yue-san?"

[Shinjo Liu Yue]

"I plan to learn more about the Empire," she said earnestly. "My Clan has been gone for hundreds of years. It is my Duty to familiarize myself with its growth." She shrugged. "I will do so whether I marry into another Clan or if my husband marries into mine."

Or if I leave here without a husband...

[Bayushi Suteichi]

"There is so much more to see to the empire. The mountains of the Dragon, the libraries of the Phoenix, the gardens of the Crane, the ancestral halls of the Lion, the wall of the Crab. I have always wanted to tour the empire and visit their courts and landmarks. Its a dream. Nothing more. " he replied.

[Shinjo Liu Yue]

Yue began to eat at her regular pace again. "Are there no opportunities to do so, Suteichi-dono?" She looked to the peak of the yurt and thought on it for a moment. "A Duty may have your travel. The same applies to me."
