Her eyes light up at the mention of stables. "Are you allowed to visit there? To see the steeds?" In her mind she's already leaving over a paddock railing, apple in her extended hand. In her mind the paddock is dry and sandy and the ground is rusty red-brown.

Hideo chuckled. He knew that would get her attention. "You can indeed as long as you don't interrupt the work of those who are caring for the injured animals. The horses that are stationed there often move on to serve in the Imperial Legions."

[Ide Amaya]

She settled against him, head on his shoulder, her forehead nestled into his neck. She placed a hand on the opposite shoulder. "Is there somewhere you like to visit when you go there? A teahouse where you can watch the horses maybe?"

Hideo smiled at the girl.

"You know, there actually is. There is a tea house called Shinsei's Precious Memory. Legends said the Shinsei stopped at this site on his way to gather the Seven Thunders for his final battle against Fu Leng, taking tea with the peasants there. The tea house was built to honour that moment and that day. It's quite a nice teahouse, and I've been there a few times."

[Ide Amaya]

He cannot see her expression, but she has wrinkled her nose, "it sounds very important, I don't know if I'm suitable to go to a place like that."

"Is that so?" He turned slightly, allowing himself to see the girls face. "I disagree. I think you are more than suitable for such a beautiful location, as you are both pure and beautiful."

[Ide Amaya]

"I would step one foot in that teahouse and they'd all know straight away that I was different. They would all stare and talk from behind their fans and tea cups. Besides, I only have one good kimono."

Hideo shook his head.

"Perhaps you look slightly different, but Shinsei once said You cannot live while hiding from life. The empire will become accustomed to the Unicorn, and you are beautiful. I think truthfully, they would be jealous" he smiled again "as for your clothes...I quite like this kimono" he stroked her side "however I know a very good kimono designer, and you will not be short of good kimonos."

She nestled in closer, but that spectre returned to remind her that there will be no teahouses and new kimonos if the Onxy Champion, or whatever thing claiming to be him, should destroy her in three nights from now. She remembered the charred body and the befouled ground, and shivered.

Hideo felt the shiver, and frowned slightly. "You are troubled still" he said quietly, moving his hand up to stroke her hair "what is wrong dear?"

Softly, "I will be troubled until the appointed meeting hour has come and gone and the fallout has been examined. But I have you, watashi no ouji, I am well."

Hideo kissed Amaya on the head. "What can I do to take your mind off your troubles, my dear Amaya?" he said quietly, turning her face to look at his

She smiles contentedly, "do you think you might learn to ride with me? Perhaps, in a few years, the Otaku and Shinjo herds will begin to regain strength and we could have a pair of horses."

She really loves horses.

"Of course. I very much want to learn to ride horses" Hideo nodded "perhaps you could work with the Miya as well? Looking after and raising the horses" he suggested.
