Matriach meeting (D9, LE, Expecting)

[Otaku Kitakuhime]

"For high... well... I'm quite a lot of attention. That i cannot deny." She sips again before blushing. "It is flattering, obviously."

[Matsu Kogo]

She smiles. "You are beautiful, you are a daughter of the Otaku, you have a position in your clan. Who could look upon you and not wish to pay you attention? Enjoy it. The present moment has its value, as one of your Shinjo cousins keeps trying to tell me."

[Otaku Kitakuhime]

She blushes a bit, now, replying with another sip, "You do me much honor, Matsu-san. It is something that will change with time, both beauty and position. Shino-san is right we must trwasure the present moment. Who is he, by the way?"

[Matsu Kogo]

Kogo sips her sake as well. "Beauty that is internal, never changes. And that shines from you Otaku-sama, it is apparent even from afar." She smiles. "Shinjo Monkhbaatar-san. He has been teaching me something of the art of riding. He has wisdom inside of him, that one, along with his laughter. He will make someone a happy wife one day."

[Otaku Kitakuhime]

"Monkbaathar-san is indeed wise and full of joy. The Shinjo have this ability to simplify life and moving forward, like no other." Kitakuhime sipts again, and puts the empty cup back on the small table. "Is he the one courting Matsu-san?"

[Matsu Kogo]

Kogo refills the cup, taking care this time to pour a small portion out, in mimicking of Otaku-sama.

"Is it a family trait? It is a lovely one if so. I have found several of the Shinjo men pleasant to talk to."

She put the bottle down and picks up her own cup again.

"Yes, we have spent a good deal of time together and enjoyed our time immensely. But with the standings where they are, I suspect he will be picked by another ahead in the ranking. He has become a good friend however and is an honorable man. I wish all the Fortune's blessings for him."

She sips her sake. "Is Kitsune-sama one of Otaku-sama's suitors? I thought it possible when I met him outside your tent."

[Otaku Kitakuhime]

She nods. "Un. Indeed a family trait. If not the Shinjo suitor at this miai, I'm sure Matsu-san will find in the Otaku men a formidable partner as well. Kitsune-san is a suitor, and... a few others, too. I am arranging meetings today and tomorrow so we may," she wet her lips with a sip, "gomen: they may have better insights about me as an option."

[Matsu Kogo]

Kogo shakes her head. "I am sorry, I am too curious at times. Forgive this one's poking and prodding." She sips her sake again. "I am hopeful in the possibilities. Though none of the Otaku men are here, I have seen enough of your family to think it would be a great honor to join it or to be allowed to marry one from it. I have heard the Otaku men are greatly skilled in horse training. I suspect there would be much I could learn."

[Otaku Kitakuhime]

"Please, Ask what you will. If there's something sensitive, I'll simply go around, or be blunt enough to tell you limiteds have been crossed."

The Otaku waves her hand dismissively, while resuming, "The Otaku men are our best tamers. I am sure you would have plenty to learn with us. I may, before the final day, write a letter to Dabo-sama if Matsu-san wishes for a recommendation."

[Matsu Kogo]

Kogo's eyes light, though her face does not change as much. "Otaku-sama does me too much honor. If Otaku-sama sees me as one who could learn from her family and benefit her clan, I would be honored to have such a recommendation." Kogo smiles, sipping her sake. "The families of the Unicorn have been kind to this one. Is there anything I could offer in return?"

[Otaku Kitakuhime]

"I am unsure if Dabo-sama would take it into account, but one can always try." Kitakuhime shakes her head, to reply, "Matsu-san's good words about the Unicorn back to Lion is all I would ever ask in return."

[Matsu Kogo]

Kogo nods, vigorously. "Of course. I have nothing but positive things to say of the Unicorn. That is what I will carry back to my clan, if I do return to them. If not, letters will flow."

Except for their unfortunate meeting with the Onyx Champion. But that is not a discussion for today.

She looks at the Otaku-s face, wondering if she is imaging changes on her face or a slight sense of strain. Perhaps I just do not know her very well.

"So Kitsune-san is a possible suitor. Who else has come forward? I am sure there are many."

[Otaku Kitakuhime]

Kitakuhime couldn't be less transparent with her expressions. It could be she's skilled in maintaining her On; or her honorable innocence simply allowed her to keep face in most circumstances. She sips and nods once more, "He is. There are four that could select me before I do. It might happen that fortunes want me to marry someone else."

[Matsu Kogo]

Kogo nods. "The Fortunes have their ways about them. Four is a good number. I hope one of them will suit you." She sips her sake. "Have you enjoyed the miai, even with its highs and lows?"

[Otaku Kitakuhime]

"Four to select me. I to choose one. The fortunes surely know how to put up a worthy challenge."

Final sip and Kitakuhime returns the cup to the tray. "I have. The highs have been far more important than any lows. I there were really awful lows. Some could expect even worse lows when the event ends."
