The Unicorn had provided her with a large tent that more than suited as the venue for a feast later that day. Before such a feast might happen, however, food had to actually be prepared. And that took time and effort. So here Yuzuki was, cooking for 30+ people, a process that produced smells that might or might not convince some people to come checking to see what was going on.

Kumahime makes her way about this improvised kitchen quite naturally, adding ingredients less by measured proportions, more by approximation; she takes some vegetables from a low simmer and adds them to a beef broth the Unicorn provided along with some noodles, then tosses some more noodles and bits of fish into the vegetable broth left behind.

"This certainly looks like we'll have enough, Yuzuki-san."

"Depends on the turnout, but I reckon so."

She pointed at a pan over at Kumahime's side of things.

"Think that's had enough, don't want it to simmer too long."

"Hai," the large woman lifts the pot off the heat and sets it off to the side, only to put the next one in its place. One of the benefits of being a chef her size cooking for many; easy to move big pots around.

"Let's see... we have chicken, shrimp, fish, beef... spicy and mild... rice and noodles... I think we have enough variety that no one should be offended by the meal."

"Agreed," she said. "And we should have sake as well. I didn't tell you yet, but one of the Yasuki offered us about a dozen bottles or so. Golden Carp sake, you ever hear of it?"

There was another minor clan member not to far off as the two women began their cooking bonanza, after his depressing performance at the archery contest he felt a drink was in order. So arriving back at his tent he had fetched one of his bottles of shochu and poured himself a cup.

Finding a comfortable spot outside his tent he placed his cup on his bucket turned table and ruffled around in his sleeves for his carving supplies. Soon enough he was shaving away at the piece of wood as it began to take shape.

"Not specifically; my knowledge of sake is limited," the Fox admits. "But it is a generous offer; sake will be well received."

"One does hope it is enough however. Some drink more than others, after all."

"One should exercise moderation in drink when representing one's clan before the entire empire," Kumahime decrees.

"Of course, many don't. It is a legitimate concern. But if the sake starts going too quickly, we can always start pouring guests cups of water and tea to distract them."

"Hopefully they'll be too drunk at that point to notice, at least."

"Drunks tend to quickly notice they are out of drink," Kumahime counters.
