Dark Edge Village

Kogo strode into the dojo, feeling better than she had the previous night. Soshi-san knows his medicine, that's for sure. I am ready for today. She began stretching her muscles, waiting for her sparring partner to arrive.

Nintoku didn't take too long to arrive to the dojo. While he had started training with the break of dawn, he had promised his clansmate that he'd accompany her in training.

"Matsu-san." he said upon spotting her "Thank you for waiting for me."

She bows to him. "Thank you for waiting for me. I was up til late hours last night and found myself a notorious slug this morning. You uphold our clan's honor with your early practice. " She says with a smile. " I am glad to have another Matsu to help keep me sharp. I fear that all this courtier's work will dull my reflexes and speed."

He dismissed her concern with a waive of his hand "Don't worry. I am aware not many wake up as early as I do. So..." he turned his eyes to her "What do you have planned?"

"Perhaps some swords practice? I suspect we had similar training but it would be good to fight someone other than my clan sibs for a change."

"You are one of the beastmasters, correct?" he inquired, vaguely recalling her conversation about her warcat "I could help you practice with the katana but I would have thought jiujutsu would be your field."

Kogo shuffles her foot for a second. "No, I spent more time with the beasts than some of my schooling. Jiujitsu was not my specialty."

She perks up a bit. "But if it is something you have knowledge of Matsu-san, I would be glad to learn from you."

"I do know about jiujutsu but that is unimportant. At least for now." he moved to take one of the bokken "Tomorrow you are joining me together with Usagi-san at the break of dawn so there I will be able to better help you.

"Now... how much do you know about kenjutsu or iaijutsu?"

She stood on firmer ground here. "Iajitsu is what I know most of, with Kenjutsu close behind." She nods at his assessment. "True, it will likely be better to have two beginners in jiujitsu there and it will be an education to see what the Hare knows."

"I am still pretty new to iajutsu. Never really had too much need for it." he frowned "My Kenjutsu base is pretty solid though, so if you wish I can try and teach you."

She nods. "That would be agreeable to me. How would you like to start?" She glances around the dojo.

"I want to see your form first." he said as he motioned towards the central ring "Want to see with what I am dealing here."

She nods, moving to pick up a shinai and then into the center ring. "Whenever you are ready Matsu-sama."

He assumed a defensive potion, awaiting for the woman to attack him. "Lets go Matsu-san."

She moves in for the attack, after a moment's pause. She committs fully to her attack, relishing being able to let all of her Matsu self out for the moment. She growled and roared "Matsu!" as she moved forward and scored an impressive attack, moving back quickly to wait for Matsu-san's attack.
