Dark Edge Village

For the third day in a row Runno came out to watch the Unicorn practice their horsemanship. Her thoughts, theories even, had begun to fully form. It was a pity no mock battles had been staged, but the Unicorn likely did not want to disturb their guests...or else such things were not common practice among them. Of course if they ponies were not going to, Runno certainly could in her head.

Another approaches, then seeing the Lion, gives the clan member a bow. "Lady Sun's blessing on you. This one is Seppun Hitako, student of the Jade Champion. Have you had rice yet?"

Disturbed from her planning, Runno turns to the new comer. She bows to a depth appropriate for the disparity in status, and there always was one when dealing with Imperials. "I have. I am Akodo Runno. A lovely morning yes?"

"It is nice, yes." She looks at the horses. "Are all the Unicorn steeds so... large? They seem bigger than I recall of horses."

Runno studies the Imperial for a moment before answering, "It seems likely they encountered a breed of horse with a hardier bloodline then our own creatures."

"And they probably have been breeding for size and other factors." She points to the one particularly terrifying display of horse and man flesh, likely any unfortunate soul cursed to stand in their path would have been crushed utterly. "Some of their mounts appear to display a more...bellicose nature then our own ponies." A small smirk tugs at the corner of her mouth, "Seppun-sama."

"Hai, true. I suppose larger makes sense when you must carry all you have with you on the horse. Yes, Akodo-san?"

"Amongst other things," She nodded, "Though on that front they have also greatly lowered the weight they travel with."

"That is only sensible. Though, how low can you take it? The yurts they provided us - even if you recut new poles each night, the weight of the fabrics would still add up over time."
