Takeo arrived at the horsemanship fields and looked about, taking in the Unicorn that had chosen to put their horses through some paces. He watched appreciatively, noting the differences between Rokugan's own horses and these new arrivals. And, if stories were to be believed, these paled in comparison to the Otaku steeds that he would soon see.

Samai smiled as her horse was eating away

Noticing the minor clanner, she smiked and bowed him. "Kitsube-sama, greetings."

Hearing the voice, Takeo turned and saw the woman. He bowed in greeting.

"Hello - Ide-sama, it is I believe? A pleasure to meet you. This one is Kitsune Takeo. I was just admiring the horses," he said, gesturing to the mounts that moved about.

"Unlike any horses we've seen in the Empire."

"Hai, Ide Samai." The foreign name rolled off her tongue easily, like it was the most natural in the world.

"So we've seen. This is Scirocco.",She indicated towards thr brown horse. "Do you have a horse Kitsune-sama?"

"No horse to call my own, though I have access to a ride when I need one," he said, moving over to Samai and Sriocco.

"A lovely name - does it have a meaning?" he asked, "I am not familiar with it."

Then he reached out to pet the horse, but stopped himself short, withdrawing his hand slightly and looking to Samai for permission.

Samai smiled and nodded, allowing Takeo permssion.

"It is a type of wind we came upon our travels, near Mereen. It seemed appropriate, considering he can be a bit willful sometimes." She smiled as she caressed his neck. "Do you ride horses often Kitsune-sama?"

"Not often," he replied, as he reached out to touch Sirocco gently on his snout, "My home, the Kitsune Mori, doesn't lend itself to an abundance of them. I did enjoy my riding lessons when I was younger though," he finished.

"The forest is surprisingly well-suited to horse travel - the trees grew tall and spread, leaving most of the undergrowth sparse. Altogether, a very horse-friendly forest," he said, smiling.

"I imagine you ride daily, Ide-san?"

"Not nearly enough as I should, the last few months were quite busy." She smiled while Scirocco seemed to dignify Takeo's touch by not kicking him.

"The forest must be lovely... I have not set foot in one yet. I assume there are.. trees?"

Takeo chuckled softly.

"Haha, yes - many trees. Trees stretching as high as the eyes can see and fanning out in every direction, their branches cast in a soft green glow by a sun that only manages to occasionally peak through the canopy. The sound of birds in lilting song, a gentle brook bubbling just out of sight, and the sweet air of a fresh fall morning crisp with dew. I take it you didn't see many such things beyond the borders? "

"Not really. A lot of sand though, and on occasion, some praire patches." She seemed wistful as she mulled over what he said. "It sounds quite lovely... hopefully one day I can pay your Mori a visit. Trees, rivers..." She smiled. "How do you find Unicorn lands so far?" Unicorn lands, such a weird word combination still.

"Sand? Like the beach?" he asked, inquisitively.

"Thus far, Unicorn lands have been welcoming. I am a bit out of my element - I am not used to being able to see quite so far in any given direction," he replied, "I imagine that hunting out here and hunting in the forest would be two very different practices."
