Another Day in the Fields (D5 EM)

Postby Akodo Runno on Wed Apr 19, 2017 2:01 am

With the sudden increase in mud the Unicorn dropped off some of their morning routine. It was understandable to Runno, the slick and treacherous ground would have been annoying to infantry. To cavalry it was downright dangerous and not worth the risks of injury to the horses.

Still it was a bit disappointing to be left looking out a field with precious little activity. The Akodo decided to make the best of the situation and use the quiet time for some ploys her mind had been percolating since before her gempukku.

Moto Baatar was out exercising his horse again that morning. Spotting Runno watching from afar, the young rider gave the Lion a jaunty wave, then made his steed prance showily for a few steps, showing off for the audience.

Runno nodded in return, partially amused by the whole display. At least one Unicorn was risking the muck.

Baatar smiled and waved again at the Lion's nod of acknowledgement, then turned his attention back to riding.

The surefooted horse picked its way across the muddy field at a trot, keeping to the more solid parts and thus managing to avoid becoming fouled. Nevertheless, plenty of mud was spattered over the steed's fetlocks and the rider's hakama in the process.
