Dark Edge Village

Yuuru arose early in the morning and headed out of the tents to get a truly clear view of their surroundings. He'd arrived during the night and wasn't able to fully see everything about the landscape where they were. He found a small tree and climbed up to some of the lower branches and looked out over the plains and village.

He took in each contour of the land and began mapping out in his mind the area. He pulled out a piece of parchment and charcoal and began sketching a topographical map of all that he could see. The warm morning air blew the paper harshly at times, but Yuuru was able to find a moment of peace in that tree as he did his work...

The thud of heavy hooves soon rattles as Butaj rides out on Huludai for a morning exercise in being free.

"HIIIYAAAAH!"

The powerful voice reverberates across the grassy plain, scaring off most prairie dogs.

Yuzuru looks down at the Unicorn on his horse with a slight smirk. He nods his head when the man comes close.

Seeing he's not alone, Butaj slows down so as not to trample the man. Huludai protests a little with loud neighing as the reins pull him up.



"Hello! Hunting?", Butaj calls once trotting into distance.

He shook his head, "Not today. Just taking a look over your new home here."

He nodded his head again, "Soshi Yuuru, pleasure to meet you."

"Moto Butaj.", Huludai comes to a semi-halt and instead begins to carry Butaj in circles around Yuuru. "Why are you taking a look at our new home here? Do you want to marry in?"

"It's a possibility." He said with a nod. "I'm not of particularly high birth, so it's possible I could end up as one of you. We'll have to see."

He tipped his head to the Moto, "And what of yourself? Any interest outside of your clan?"

Butaj isn't too suspicious, so he just nods. Butaj would probably do the same if he intended to join another Clan.

"Butaj doesn't know if his birth is high or low. And on outside interest Butaj has no idea, he has yet to see the maidens. You are the first easterner Butaj meets today, and you are not eligible to marry him. But Butaj can wrestle you for fun!"

Yuuru lets out a slight chuckle through his nostrils, "I suppose we could. Do you often wrestle with people you meet?"

In the fields another dark figure strode, his dark red kimono, almost black, standing out noticeably.

Soshi Taira walked at a lackadaisical pace, but due to his relative height, he still moved quickly. Hands tucked in his sleeves, he seemed to be studying the camp, more than the terrain, his gaze wandering over distant figures, coming and going, arriving and leaving.

As he came close to the other two, he bowed in greeting, but did not approach further, not choosing to invade without invitation.

Yuuru nodded to the other Soshi as he approached so as to make the other man feel welcome.

Taira, bowed in return, and approached.

"Good morning, cousin. And you..."

After a moment of mental searching, Taira settled for a guess based on the man's appearance. "Moto-san."

Yuuru nodded, "I'm Yuuru and this is Moto.. Butaji." Yuuru struggled a bit with the pronunciation.

"Butachi."

Taira tried.

"One is pleased to meet you, Moto-san."

"Ha, so you wrestle! Butaj has just come up with it because you consider joining the family and look sturdy enough to take some bariqu." Butaj replies to that while watching another Scorpion come out of the grasses. "Butaj. Your names are the same and you look similar. Are you brothers?" Butaj turns Huludai to make a larger circle that could encompass both. He symbolically returned the bow from the saddle. "Butaj is happy to meet you too. Looks like you've come to the Unicorn in great numbers. You plan on being best friends of the Unicorn?"
